Clean central hotel

For one night transit in Singapore this hotel is completely fine. Weirdly my room did not have a window but other than that was all good. Clean room, comfy bed, kettle.tea coffee in room, toilet and shower clean. Convenience store just next door if you need anything. Centrally located, easy to get too from the airport and MRT stations.

Great

The hotel is 5 mins walk from Raffles, but the contrast between that hotel and this is immense. The Ibis Budget hotel has no facilities. The room was barely big enough to have the bed. Hardly anywhere to put our suitcases and no wardrobe (just a tiny hanging space). The ensuite is a toilet, sink and shower head, so the whole ensuite (including the toilet) gets wet if you take a shower. There was no outside window. 8 mins from the metro. Many eateries nearby.

Dear sitdeus, I'm really surprised by your ridiculously inapt comparison between Singapore's iconic five-star luxury RAFFLES HOTEL with an IBIS BUDGET hotel! Room rates at Raffles hotel will easily be 10 times that of ibis budget. As one of the most densely populated cities in the world, land is scarce here and hence, most budget accommodation properties do not offer large rooms. Standard rooms do not have windows and this is clearly indicated in the booking platform. If you require a window, please book a Superior or Deluxe room. Please do consider booking Raffles Hotel in your next trip to SIngapore. I am sure that you will not be disappointed. Warm Regards, Roland Guest Experience Executive

I checked into my room, 514 around 4.00pm.After a long day travelling, I showered, changed and went out exploring for the evening. I arrived back just after 9.00pm. I had been in bed for about an hour when I started to feel itchy and could feel something biting me. I pulled back the duvet and then took the sheets off and there were bed bugs, I counted at least 15 of them just under the sheet! They were crawling all over the quilted mattress protector too. I got dressed and went down to inform reception. No apology was given, I was just handed a key card for another room. I then had to go and move all my things by myself. I began by checking the bed in the new room, 503. The mattress protector had already got lots of stains and pieces of hair, it looked as though it hadn't been cleaned in a while. This room also had bed bugs. I went down to reception yet again. The receptionist Chloe really did not offer any help with the situation. I asked for a refund at the end of my stay, as this is the second room that has bed bugs. She then apologised but it was obvious that she didn’t care. She then phoned the manager, who I believe to be called Jason. She asked me if I had already booked somewhere else to say, in which I said no and I don’t plan on it as it’s late at night, will cost much more and I was catching a flight the next day. To my horror she then said that I could not be offered a refund if I was staying here but they could move me to another hotel. I did not want to be moved to somewhere unfamiliar at 10.30pm, as I was already exhausted. For some reason she then asked me if the bed bugs could fly! I showed her the pictures and videos of them, along with ones of my bites. I was then offered another new room, 507. I was moving my belongings once again to the new room when there was a knock at the door. It was the receptionist to confirm she had seen the bed bugs in the first room and to take photos of my bites! I really feel like she didn't believe me at first. This caused me so much additional stress. In the morning I had to go buy cream for the bites, as they were so itchy. I felt uncomfortable all night and barely slept, due to this stress. That morning, the receptionist Fifi didn't offer an apology either and came across very rude, when I was checking out, I asked when I could complain and her customer service was atrocious. I received no sympathy or concern and no help was offered at any time throughout my stay. I am a teenage, female travelling alone for the first time. My parents booked this hotel as my Christmas present. My mum is an Accor member and has been for over 20 years. She booked this hotel because it was central to all the tourist attractions in Singapore. She believed the Accor hotels to have a good reputation for cleanliness, and was horrified that this has happened to me. Furthermore, she thought the customer service would be 5 star, how wrong was she! She will no longer be booking any hotels in your chain because of this experience. Finally, after arriving at my destination, I am having the inconvenience of washing ALL of my belongings, just in case I have a hitch-hiker! SHAME ON YOU IBIS FOR PUTTING THIS MUCH STRESS ON A LOYAL CUSTOMER AND TO OFFER NO MEANINGFUL APOLOGY OR ANYTHING IN COMPENSATION :(
