Fabulous find near the city centre

The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable with decent air-conditioning, we slept well. There was hanging storage but no drawers to put things in, however living out our suitcase wasn't a great hassle. Bathroom is compact but the shower was good and there was plenty of hot water. The bar was reasonably priced and had a lovely terrace space outside. There was a coffee and croissant option for breakfast at €6 which was adequate for us. The staff were super friendly and, having learnt it was our 39th wedding anniversary, left us a lovely little gift in our room. Access to the city was easy with tram lines just 3 minutes walk away. Would definitely stay here again.

A flawless stay

What a great find. From my first contact by email regarding a reservation request to our departure the service and courtesy here was of the very highest standard. The accommodation was perfect, very clean and very comfortable including the temperature as it was quite hot during our stay. We did not require breakfast here but all seemed to be of a very good standard. The bar area and the courtyard garden area is a perfect place to relax with a drink in the evening. The hotel is very convenient for public transport to the centre of the city, there are plenty of decent restaurants and coffee spots within a short walking distance and a little jewel is within five minutes walk - Tenbosch Park. Thank you to the staff at Ibis Chatlelain for an impeccable stay, we will most certainly return.

Good position, management lacking

Very well placed for a single night stay. It was quite difficult to locate and we could not get through the entrance door as the receptionist had too many jobs to do and lacked experience. He was at the back of the hotel when we arrived so the main door was locked. He was willing, but having explained we should press a button to get the garage door unlocked he was not at reception again so we had to go back into the hotel for the third time to find him. All rather frustrating after a long drive. Beds were comfortable. We did not want a full breakfast but it was possible to have a simple cup of coffee and a croissant (not advertised) before leaving.

Nice Hotel

An unexpected trip to Brussels to visit our daughter. We stayed here as it's close to where she lives. Check in was effortless as we did not have a booking. But the freindly receptionist looked after us, she was so friendly and professional. Room was tight but spotless It's in a lovely area of the city and a bus outside the door takes u right into the city centre in about 20 minutes. Nice bar area to have a night cap. Overall we would definitely go back when we visit our daughter again. Rooms were nice and warm as it was bitter cold outside. I'd definitely recommend.

Good for a short stay

I was here for only 2 nights so it was perfect. 1. The lobby is clean and inviting, check in was fast and reception staff are kind and helpful. 2. On my first night, the toilet flush wasn’t functioning and the water kept running. The receptionist immediately came over and fixed it. She must have been an engineer in her past life as she knew exactly what to do! I didn’t get her name (short hair and glasses), she was excellent. 3. The location is close to good restaurants (Green Burger, Feta, Kafei and Poh Thai) and a Carrefour express and also walkable to other neighborhoods. 4. The bed was very comfortable and there’s a kettle to make tea. 5. Housekeeping is fast and reliable 6. I was a bit late with the check out but the staff was nice about it. 7. Great air conditioning for the humid days The only cons were that the elevator, carpets look old and tired and the walls of the rooms had marks/dings- could use a fresh coat of paint and my bathroom had two shampoos but no soap. The room is a bit of a tight squeeze for a double but as a solo traveler, it was perfect for my short visit.
