Check in was quick and efficient. Housekeeping did a wonderful job and check out was a breeze. The bar was a bit slow for the quantity of people (generally not many for the time I a referring to), when we stopped for drinks.

All great except to check in. Directions did not make it clear where to go to drop a car and when we finally found the valet, no one was there. So that was a little bit awkward. we also did not get the benefit of a museum membership discount because we opted for the valet special when we didn’t really even need valet with the adjacent public parking. we also did not yet get credit for two breakfast meals, which were supposedly a part of our special package.

From the moment I walked in, I was drawn to the artwork (both still and video) that adorns many of the walls of the hotel. You can't help but feel the creative spirit here! My room was lovely -- quiet,and comfortable. And just steps from the hotel entrance was a marvelous jogging/biking trail and a world-class museum.

I arrived late in the evening and was not instructed about where I could locate the wifi password. I was placed in a disability friendly room but wasn't given a heads up and then struggled to understand how many of the things worked (shower, lights) and there were no instructions. My AC didn't work and the room was quite warm. In the morning I let the front person know and when I returned in the afternoon was informed that Engineering hadn't been informed and that b/c of the eco-friendly nature of the hotel I could expect it to be warm. (I wasn't also informed about the eco-friendly nature of the hotel so that was news to me.) Then when I called to find out when Engineering would be coming, there was another miscommunication with the front desk staff who just blind transferred me to Engineering. Having said all that, once Engineering came in, they did a fantastic job, did exactly when they said they would, left a very nice note and fixed the AC! The hotel is lovely, the attitude and energy of the front desk staff is good - but they just are not good at communicating things that are relevant not just nice.

Very comfortable stay in a hotel with wonderful art. A particularly nice feature was the outside walkway/jogging trail/bicycle path that connects the hotel with Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art and that meanders through a park with many sculptures.

I booked a very expensive suite for our Anniversary. The room was nice but not to the level we paid. I booked this suite based off how the hotel marketed the shower as this is important to my wife. The shower left us disappointed. The wet room was very small and the lack of a door made the air very cold when trying to take a hot shower. When we checked in we did not get a map or anything from the gentleman even though we stated it was our first time. When I went back down to get one I overheard the other employee explaining the map to another guest and give them tickets to the complementary burnout tasting. We were never told about this or offered it. The entire experience left us feeling disappointed.

The hotel is well appointed with the lobby galleries being an obvious standout. The hotel pulls off ‘arty’ without being pretentious and remaining family friendly. The staff is friendly and provided an excellent tips for local sightseeing. The Hive, the lobby restaurant, is very tasty - the cocktails are a standout.

The hotel was over air conditioned in the public spaces as well as the rooms. No slippers or shower caps were provided..unusual these days, especially that there were no shower caps. Staff was very friendly.
