Great time at Movenpick Bangtao

The room is nice as we stayed in 2 bedroom Seaview pool villa for 4 nights, private pool is big enough for us to enjoy the time in the room. The staff is very helpful and polite which made our stay very comfortable, the hotel also can help to arrange the activities like Elephant Care, PP Island, etc. Breakfast choices are limited but good enough for an easy one. And the beach is just 1 min away. It is also close the Porto De Phuket which has some nice restaurants and Tops supermarket. In general, we enjoyed a lot with this resort!

Great experience in villa with the lake view. Recommend to everyone one from single to couples with children. Amazing food, hotel’s restaurant works the full day with really wide choice of European and Asian food. 2 minutes to the seaside with very long beach line. Real 5 stars vacations

Nice stay and friendly employees… thank you Fang , Orlando and Abby so much for the beautiful smile … we will definitely come again. We booked the private pool suit and we had very good family time . Advice: the hotel is fully booked most of the time so you need to do your booking a head of time

We had a great time at the property. The hospitality was amazing.we were travelling with young children and the staff was very accommodating if we needed anything. They have spacious rooms and very well equipped. We enjoyed the in-house pool.

Thephysical aspects of the hotel are nice, but how it is run is nothing but incompetence. They are constantly trying to upcharge you for everything. As we checked in, they tried to get us to sign up for their $60 per person seafood dinner. No one ended up going to the dinner, but to punish I suppose for not paying the $60, there was no bartender during their advertised happy hour. We have been to other Mövenpicks, and their chocolate hour is legendary. Here it is a joke. It is at the pool bar and consists of a glass of chocolate something, that’s it. And the bartenders won’t even prepare it unless you ask. During happy hour at the pool the bartenders would leave for 30 minutes at a time. It was clear they did not want people ordering drinks during happy hour. Anything you order from the bar, restaurant or room service comes with a 20% fee on top. The breakfast is not free. They charged me $100 per day for my children to eat. The breakfast had made to order omelettes, but not much else. Most of the employees are young people who appear to hate their jobs. The bartenders can’t understand English, so they will just ignore you. The one exception was the older Filipino man who was incredible. He tried everything he could to make the stay great, when every other employee had a bad attitude. He was there from 8am to 9pm everyday, so I suspect the hotel treats their employees very poorly. The management at this hotel needs to be replaced. Unhappy and unhelpful employees come from a poor management. Keep in mind the price you book with them, because by the end of your stay they will demand at least twice as much as they quoted you. This hotel has very deceptive practices and we will never stay at a Mövenpick again. Trashy, dishonest company.
