Location is near Kyoto station. Convenience Store like family mart, 7 Eleven are nearby. Shopping area is at walkable distance but room size and services are bit disappointing considering the price you are paying. Tried Vegetarian food which was okish.

The great experience all started with booking. The manager Joe was amazing and helped us booked our rooms which made the experience so much better. Staff were friendly, rooms were beautiful and location was great. The Free drinks and snacks cards were amazing and the staff operatiing this were great. We had dinner one night there which was a big disapopintment however. I couldt use my 30% meal discount due the date range, the meals were small, and they all came out seperatley. Each person had finished there meail before the next one cam out, so technically we didnt dine together. This was a massive dissapopintment and we did not dine there again after that

Our family (2 adults and 2 children, ages 12 & 15) recently stayed at Mercure Kyoto Station during our 12-day "Japan Family Adventure". The hotel's location is excellent, being within easy walking distance of both a laundry/convenience store and the main Kyoto Station, which made our daily travels very efficient.The Service: The check-in experience was lovely. Matthew (who is from the USA) and a Japanese staff member whose name starts with 'C' were incredibly helpful. They assisted us in booking an extra night when we realized we had mistakenly only booked for two nights instead of three, and they even helped me retrieve my Accor membership number. Matthew continued to be a great help throughout our stay, assisting us with luggage forwarding (Takkyubin) and providing umbrellas when needed.The Rooms: We requested and were provided with two interconnected rooms. One was a twin room, which was spacious and well-appointed. The second room had a queen bed but was designed more like an accessible room for a wheelchair user, which made it feel a bit different from the other.Dining:Breakfast: The breakfast was wonderful with a very large spread. A special kudos goes to the dining staff, who were always smiling and ready to assist our family.Room Service/Amenities: One minor disappointment was when we needed a plate and spoon. We were told the restaurant was a separate entity, and I had to personally go down to the restaurant to collect them myself.Overall Experience: Despite the small inconvenience regarding the restaurant, the helpfulness of the staff and the spaciousness of the twin room made this a great base for our time in Kyoto. The ease of forwarding our large bags from Tokyo to this hotel was a major plus for our family trip!.

We booked a room for two parents with two children (10 & 12). In the room are two single beds and one super-soft sofa bed. This is too small to sleep and stay with three persons and should be allowed only for three persons. Also, in this booking the breakfast was only included for two adults but not for the two children, which is unusual. However, the location of the hotel is good and the breakfast itself is great!

In your case, the booking was made for two adults with two children sharing existing beds. As children sharing existing beds do not require separate bedding, the standard setup includes two beds. However, considering the age of your children, we prepared an additional sofa bed for your comfort. We regret if this arrangement did not meet your expectations. With regard to breakfast, please note that meals for children sharing existing beds are not included in the reservation. We apologize if this was not clearly communicated at the time of booking. We will make efforts to provide clearer information regarding policies for children sharing beds, as well as improve options for adding breakfast for them during the reservation process. We had a wonderful time celebrating our honeymoon at the Mercure hotel! It was a less than 10 minute walk away from Kyoto station, making it a great location to get around. The room was very spacious and included a large bed! The best part of our stay was the amazing breakfast buffet everyday! We will definitely be looking out for more Mercure hotels at our next vacation location and plan to return here in Kyoto!
