Wonderful staff and a beautifully presented hotel. The dark interior of the lobby sets a really cool vibe. Rooms are compact in areas but well formed with everything you could need in a small apartment. Quiet and dark in the morning thanks to good curtains so slept well. Looking forward to staying again soon

Another wonderful stay here at the most bodacious city edge hotel accommodation in Melbourne. Fully self catered rooms for short or longer stays and rooms for families along with a plunge pool, gym, outdoor bbq, sauna and steam room the Shadow Play is a one stop shop for a guaranteed restful and quality Melbourne stay. Tram stop out front, crown entertainment and convention space minutes walk away and I house dining options for breakfast and dinner top all your needs off. 5 stars out of 5 for me.! Thank you Mr Sav and Mr Eric, Athina and Jerry up front, Lovely Ms Bianca in dining and the most amazing housekeeping team including Cecelia, Paula and Lance.

I’ve stayed here a few time for work. It’s a nice hotel. They AC never seems to work properly and I’ve had a couple of rooms not cleaned well. But all in all it’s a great spot to stay. Staff are really friendly and the location is good. Easy walk to south bank and the Markets.

Spacious rooms for two, with a clean setup and professional service. Housekeeping was spectacular and reception staff was very helpful, especially in assisting me with external deliveries to the hotel. Hotel location was also convenient for work purposes.

Staff are awesome and available 24 x 7. We arrived at 12:30am and were checked in by a real human being. As a member of ALL we got a great rate on the room which was spotless throughout our stay. Breakfast choices were varied enough that we could try something different each day and when our son couldn't get up in time to make it they provided his breakfast to-go! We had an early check out (4am) on our departure date and they made us ham and cheese croissants, a fruit cup and juice for each of us - good to have something in the belly before getting on board the plane. Located right next to a tram stop and 5 min walking distance to Crown Casino and Promenade. Woolworths 2 min walk away for groceries too, which was handy. I recommend Shadow Play wholeheartedly as a great place to stay when in Melbourne.
