We have recently stayed at this hotel and was very pleased. We advised that we would be late arriving and staff stayed to greet us. We were pleasantly surprised when we walked into the room. We had a separate lounge and dining area. The kitchenette was compact, but had everything we needed, plus a washer dryer which we didn’t expect. The wet room was lovely along with toiletries and clean, soft white towels. Very friendly and helpful staff. The only downside was that it is a little walk to the shops, but close to the park, harbour and Salamanca market on a Saturday.

The room we stayed in had a staircase which made the bedroom quite a way from the living area where our child was to sleep. It was a little too far so one of us slept on the sofa with her. The ceilings were low so it could get quite stuffy even though there is a vent in the stairwell. Overall, it was a nice place, well suited to family with older kids or three adults.

The apartment was spacious. The Reception staff was friendly and helpful. we stayed for 6 days and had good experience. However, there was no full fledged kitchen so cooking was difficult.

This hotel is central to the tourist area of Hobart with large liveable rooms. However sadly I must write a negative review. The sheets had blood on them. My husband went to hop into bed and on pulling back the covers found blood on the sheets. I rang the after hours phone and the lady was very helpful and arranged a person to come to the room immediately and change the linen. ( see photos) The staff were apologetic. The manager was on holidays for the next 2 days and I asked for him to contact me. He phoned at 5pm on the monday. I asked how this could of happened and he said he would need to speak with housekeeping the next day and that he would let me know. I"m still waiting. Now here's the kicker- we stayed at this hotel same time last year. On this occasion the doona was covered in what looked like a whole cup of coffee. New sheets covered the stained doona but you could smell the coffee thru them- that's how we found the stain. Also our park/city view room was a solid red brick wall with absolutely no view so you couldn't even see what the weather was doing. The previous manager was very apologetic and promised that if we returned we would be given better service and offered to refund 1 nights accommodation . This was very kind so we did stay here again this year - everyone needs a second chance. Extremely disappointed in Mantra One Sandy Bay.
