The reception was unattended when we arrived at 7pm - we had to wait for 15mn-, the room were not cleaned for 3 days, there was no proper buffet breakfast, the rooms were smelly. We were 4 people travelling together for business. All of us had the same experience.

Everyone staying at this hotel had a horrible experience. Some got to the hotel and decided to stay somewhere else…I wish I had. I heard the car park was really small so I thought I would try to call and email reception to see if my car would fit..but there was no one answering the phones. When I told reception (and should the calls), they weren’t concerned. The rooms are standard. Price was extreme- they wanted $389 for one night stay in a small dated hotel room. I have never given a bad review but this place deserves it

Poor experience for business travelers

This is really average. Rubbish around the front door on arrival. Poor facilities. Restaurant advertised in the rooms as being open for dinner. But, when you go down to have dinner, there is a sign ‘coming soon.’ Inconvenient location and noisy. Even with a corporate booking, I had to pay a ‘bond.’ Not good for business travel.

The lady at reception was very rude and unhelpful. The foyer was dirty. I was told to go sit on the couch and wait until she was ready to serve me. I sat on the couch and found down the sides of the couch was filthy with lolly wrappers and other rubbish. The room looked clean until I really looked the cushion covers looked like they had seen better days, the curtains looked and felt dirty like they had never been washed since they were first put in the room. The bathroom had a bath in it which being an older person had trouble getting into it so I could have a shower, the taps are so ancient having to work out how to get the water to come through to the shower and not the bath. The bath and tiles were not cleaned properly, mould and rust around the areas like the towel rack. Restaurant floor was dirty, no uniforms were worn by the staff, one young lad was wearing tracksuit pants with the leg zippers undone, the young guy that served me had a dirty apron on. I was told the fish was fresh Barramundi but found that the fish was frozen from a packet probably from Woolworths on shoestring chips and salad that had seen better days. The guy that served me was later waving a wet mop around between the tables this made me feel sick, he then started vacuuming the floor between the tables, I was the only person that ate in there. I can understand why now Breakfast was suppose to start at 6am, the restaurant was closed and in darkness. I gathered breakfast was off the menu. I am still waiting for my holding money to be returned to my bank account. They don’t seem to care about the cleanliness of the entire motel I won’t be staying there again.

Great Mantra Hotel in Brisbane near Fortitude Valley and the Story Bridge. The staff were quick and friendly on check-in and welcomed me as a Diamond Accor member. I was upgraded from a hotel room to a 1 bedroom apartment with study and excellent views of the Brisbane River, Story Bridge and city. The room was in great condition and well appointed. The room had welcome drinks and a cheeseboard arranged by James and the Mantra on Queen team. The breakfast in the restaurant was great. Checkout was very quick and efficient as well. I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to a future stay in the near future.
