One night city stay - good and reasonably priced

Good location and really reasonably priced. Nice city views. We were given an upgrade from a standard room to executive, which was fab. We were on 15th floor. The pool was a bit small and not great but I guess it’s to be expected given central location. Overall good :)

Very Low budget accommodation

Probably one of the most uncomfortable hotels I’ve stayed in in Brisbane. Level 4 so loud. Can hear the cars outside all night and I barely slept. Not to mention someone had a shower at 11pm which made a sound like someone was using a Jack hammer. Not sure if our room wasn’t stocked properly but no English Breakfast tea and no robes. The pump bottles in the bathroom barely work. And the air-conditioner definitely wasn’t working. Family of four and we boiler. I’d rate this as a very low budget hotel.

Disappointing experience for a 5 star Pullman hotel

Compared to our last stay, our experience was a bit disappointing. The hotel facilities require an upgrade (and management advised that this is planned). In spite of our specific request for good lighting for reading etc three of the five lights in our room were not working and inappropriate for our purposes. WIFI was limited to 3 devices and overall we were a bit underwhelmed. Management made an effort to compensate for shortcomings and that was appreciated. Our dining options were of a good standard and overall an OK experience but we expected more from an advertised 5 star hotel.

Excellent meals at Goldfinch, Pullmans, King George Square, Brisbane

My wife and I are regular visitor to the Goldfinch restaurant at Pullman & Mercure King George Square Brisbane. We find the restaurant providing excellent lunch meals. In particular, the head chef Anish, is very friendly and looks after us every time we have been to Goldfinch. My wife is pure vegetarian, and although there are not many vegetarian options on the menu, Anish makes sure that my wife finds something nice and tasty in dishes prepared by Anish. Thank you Anish and I am sure your efforts will be well recognized by the management of Pullmans. Dinesh Khagram

Great location

While the check-in process wasn’t the fastest this hotel won me over in almost every other aspect and I’d certainly stay here again. Location wise it was perfect, being just a few minutes walk from the train station and right on the central square. The lobby area is nice and spacious while feeling modern, and the staff were all friendly and welcoming. My third floor room was very large despite being a standard category - it would easily be comfortable for an extended stay. There was a nice view over the church opposite but it was a shame that the door didn’t open onto the balcony. The air-conditioning worked well and the bed was large and comfortable. Plenty of storage, a large desk and plugs on the floor next to the bed made it a practical room too. The bathroom was equally as spacious as the main bedroom area but unfortunately didn’t feel as modern, but at least everywhere was clean. The shower was over the bath and there was lots of storage space around the sink. Despite the central location there was no noise at all from outside nor adjacent rooms, although I was located at the end of the corridor. The concierge team was particularly memorable, being super friendly and proactive at offering help. There’s a great roof top bar which I’ve left a separate review of and overall it was a very pleasant stay; certainly recommended by me!
