If you're looking for great accommodation, helpful friendly staff, a beautiful pool in lush tropical gardens across from the best beach in the world, then look no further than Mantra Amphora resort, Palm Cove in Far North Queensland. Voted as the best beach in the world by readers/editors of 'Conde Nast Traveller', Palm Cove Beach is directly across from the magnificent Mantra Amphora resort. Reception staff go above and beyond to help every traveller with sound advice, knowledge of the area, friendly and efficient service, making bookings, and so much more. We would like to sincerely thank Denise and Rachael on reception for making our holiday perfect and welcoming us back for an extra night when Cairns airport had a security breach forcing the cancellation of our flight. Also, a big thanks to Catherine in housekeeping for making our room up again at such short notice. I would highly recommend staying at Mantra Amphora Resort as the friendly staff, great apartment, beautiful pool & gardens located directly across the road from Palm Cove beach, make for a simply unforgettable experience. Thanks, team Mantra!

First impressions are important! Reception staff are efficient but not very welcoming or friendly. Probably due to tourism fatigue. Location is excellent, close to the beach and cafes, and the rooms very satisfying and a comfortable size. Big TV and very good internet are pleasing. But beware, there are a couple of things that may cause you grief. 1. If you have any form of mobility problems, forget the Mantra, as you will have to negotiate a lot of narrow steps, and a mean a lot! Even some rooms on the ground floor had a number of steps. In a couple of cases, the handrails did not go the full distance of the steps. To carry heavy suitcases up those steps is exhausting and dangerous. Reception will not usually help you with this. 2. A lot of the units are privately owned, and the private owners have the plum units and many private owners holiday in them in peak holiday time, and you can't blame them for that. However, this can sometimes restrict the choice for a holidaymaker like us. For example, I asked for a particular unit two years in a row and was knocked back. I then had to settle for units not as good. Even so, Palm Cove is an idyllic spot with great weather. You can survive in Palm Cove without a car as they have a very good bus service which tuns into Cairns daily.

Had a two night stay at the Mantra Amphora. The room was hotel style, with a comfortable bed and separate bathroom. A small fridge with crockery/cutlery for two was all I needed. The room was clean and had a private balcony. It didn't have a view of the beach, but the outlook through the trees was pleasant. It's well located on the esplanade with easy access to the beach and restaurants. Parking was available out the back, behind a boom gate, so reasonably secure. The reception staff were lovely and overall it was a great experience.

I found a review on this forum that suggested we ask and book room 516A&B. Well, what can we say. It was magnificent. Ground floor location so no stairs. This was a bonus especially as we arrived tired and late. Unit was stunning - it seems as if it’s just been fully refurbished. Everything was new, had a great oven/air fryer, induction cook top and every room had a smart TV with all of our apps being able to be streamed. I see that some people’s rooms aren’t refurbished so it may be hit and miss. I believe (after speaking to staff) this is because some owners haven’t done any upgrades. This was certainly not the case with our room 516. Location is great and the pool fantastic although the weather wasn’t that kind the location was helped out as it is sheltered from the ocean wind. Great value for money and we will certainly be back. Staff were excellent and all very friendly. Again if you are thinking about booking I’d call direct and request unit 516A or B. You won’t be disappointed.
