Rooms desperately in need of a renovation

We stayed overnight in a one bedroom city room, while it was spacious it was old tired and in need of a renovation. Very basic amenities. While I can not fault the staff or the service I don't think I will return in a hurry.

A couple of important factors for me when I travel are the bed and the bathroom. I don’t know if the bed wasn’t a standard queen size or it just felt small because it was in a small room, mattress was too firm and lumpy. I am not a fan of a shower over a bath. I only stayed here because Novotel Southbank was unavailable for the month. The hotel restaurant was not open for dinner. We only stayed one night as a result.

This property is in very poor condition. We have staid here twice in the last few months and nothing has improved. Carpet missing inside robe, thread bare at bathroom door, blinds didn’t fit properly, very poor layout.

Perfect location for the Cultural Precint

The room was spacious and within walking distance to QPAC, the Museum and the Art Gallery. Unfortunately the hotel restaurant was closed for lunch and dinner but with so many restaurants/food outlets close by it was not a major concern.

We find Mantra South Bank so convenient when we travel into Brisbane to attend shows at QPAC. Situated across the road from the South Bank restaurant strip it's great for dining and easy walking distance to the theatre. Great also for an after theatre drink before turning in for the night

We will be very happy to stay with Mantra South Bank, Brisbane, anytime. The staff were welcoming and friendly and always happy to help. The rooms were well appointed. The hotel is close to Southbank and well positioned for QPAC, the railway stations and busway stations.

Great Hotel and Great Staff and close to everything.The beds are very comfy and rooms nice and clean.The staff were friendly and very helpfull and allways had a smile.The hotel has a pool and gym.This hotel is a must stay in Brisbane,I will be back.

Somethings taken out of our room

Anitem was taken out of our room while we were out for the day, the staff to tried to work out who was in our room other than the cleaner but no one else had gone into the room. We were advised the cleaner has been with them for many years however we assured the staff that we definitely hadnt misplaced the item and it was clearly by the bed when we left that day. We turned the room upside down and could not find the item so we know that it was taken from the room. I would strongly advise if you stay at the mantra that you take anything of any value with you or lock in the safe provided

It was our 38th wedding anniversary and stayed Friday and Saturday nights. Check in was friendly and quick and there was a bottle of champagne waitng in the fridge for us to celebrate! The hotel is central to everything we needed and we walked to GOMA on Saturday night to see our sons film showing in the Brisbane International Film Festival. The one bedroom apartment with balcony and city view is a must as it is spacious and comfortable. The bed was fantastic as well. It was a wonderful change to staying in the city. We will definitely be staying here again.

The Mantra is well located with easy access to the Brisbane Southbank riverside, and well located for many variety of restaurants at its doorstep. The staff are very friendly and with my Accor Pls membership I had a magnificent huge room upgrade, plus a couple of free drinks at the downstairs pub. The balcony to the upgrade room was very pleasant for a quiet drink after a long hard hot days work.

25 years since last in Brisbane, pre South Bank. Accommodation was central to all we wanted to do, wheel, river cruise, beach and restaurants. We were very pleased with the room and hotel. We had plenty of room and loved having a proper fridge. Check in was quick, as was check out. Everyone from front desk to bar staff were cheerful and more than happy to answer questions and oblige requests. Thank you and we hope it's not another 25 years before our next visit.
