Room would have been ok but for smell

We were there for work, great sized villas, very clean plenty of space and great location, straight on the beach. It was a great place to relax at after work.

I didn't notice when booking the room that the restaurant wasn't open, and the menu log options weren't satisfactory for me so I had to get back into the car to go and get some dinner.

We had amazing time staying at aanuka. Kids loved it, it is close to everything. We loved how close was the beach. Great and professional service. We will be coming back again!

As a mother travelling alone with a very young child, I was concerned with the lack of security and remote location of our room. There was no additional lock on the door from the inside, despite warnings in the hotel compendium advising to keep all doors and windows locked. There was a simple push button lock but no extra chain or bolt lock, given the room was located right next to a fence bounded by a public road. The facilities understandably had restrictions on time etc, but after walking from one side of the huge property to the other for my daughter to have a swim in the indoor pool at the times specified as opening in the compendium, we were advised that those times were incorrect and that the pool would not open for another 45 minutes. The receptionist advised my daughter, "sorry, you'll have to wait for another 45 minutes". This was unsuitable as we were leaving for our next destination. The hotel literature should be updated to reflect the new restrictions and the security of those quite isolated rooms upgraded to ensure guests feel safe and comfortable in their surrounds. The entrance to the room was a dark alcove with sensor light and the room itself was clean but carpet quite stained. For a resort supposedly 4 star it left a lot to be desired.

My partner arrived at 8:30 pm on Friday the 31/7/20.A young male staff member was rude and uncooperative towards her. He left outside in the cold whilst he pointed out the check in procedures from behind a door. Another couple waiting for the arrival of their meal by courier could not believe his poor attitude towards her. I the card holder hadn't arrived yet. The facilities, staff and location were great beyond that.

Fine despite the current challenges

Being an ACCOR m. I was very disappointed with the whole stay. I booked online and while the confirmation advised that some facilities would be closed - it did not state which facilities. On arrival - we did not receive any welcome gift as ACCOR members are advised should be received - not even bottles of water! Whilst I understand the impact of COVID 19 on businesses, we had been travelling for one week prior to arriving at this motel and had stayed at 3 other ACCOR motels with no issues - welcome gift received, restaurants opened and facilities open (only one spa was closed) We were not informed the restaurant was closed- therefore we did not receive the dining benefits and had the added expense of either getting the food delivered or eating out at facilities in Coffs Harbour.When I asked why we received no compensation I was advised ACCOR had instructed the hotel not to open the restaurant but there was no explanation why no compensation was received. The motel and facilities appear to be in need of TLC - our room smelt like it had been locked up and had a musty smell. Our booking was for 3 days - in that time we did not see any housekeeper and had to get more towels ourselves

Favourite place to stay on the Coffs coast, Great location, clean, tidy Great customer service

good house and good location. we had a great time there.

When we arrived, the taps were coming out with dirty water which lead the bath to be covered in dirt and the room stunk. Then I called and got a room change. The bathroom was mouldy which really made me feel dirty- not pleasant. The toilet seat needed replacing as it was old and had marks of some sort all over it. There was no tv in the bedroom for us to relax and watch a movie. We had to sit on an old brown lounge and watch the old school tv in the lounge room. The room was cold due to being tiled and just not what I was expecting after seeing photos online. Regards, Hayley

Having the beach on your doorstep was wonderful. With in-house activities such as mini golf & tennis was great

Quiet, good accomodation, so close to the beach

We've been staying there frequently over the past + 20 years always a great spot lovely atmosphere team members always pleasant and professional. Appreciate the difficult times we currently find ourselves in with Covid and clearly with the restaurant and bar not open the stay wasn't obviously as good , but appreciate hard decisions need to be made to keep people as safe as possible and cost effective for the business so this is not a complaint as such !
