BreakFree Aanuka Beach Resort 4 stars

We were 3 adults in a 4-bedroom unit and we could only have 2 keys, 1 welcome drink card and 1 small bottle of water left in the unit. We saw large cockroaches in the kitchen the first morning when we got up.

We have returned to this resort many timesover the last 10 years and have always had a great stay, I would have to say this stay was one of our most enjoyable with the improvements to the bar and restaurants really making our holiday experience incredible. The relaxed family friendly atmosphere and activities on offer were a great addition to our holiday. Staff numbers have increased and their customer service skills are noticeably improved. Our 2 bedroom villa had an updated bathroom which was a nice surprise for us. I had requested in advance a villa in a specific area of resort we like to stay in and that requested was accomodated to our delight. Check in was a breeze so quick snd efficient and reception staff were lovely We will certainly be returning again. Thank you for another enjoyable family holidays

I love Aanuka for the location and the resort, we have stayed a few times over the years. We had a few issues this time . In one room we stayed in No27 had the open skylights in the bedroom which allowed light from properties behind to shine through all night which caused lack of sleep. This should really be addressed or a curtain put up at least. We were contacted on multiple occasions to pay our room charges during our stay instead of paying on checkout like we would do at any Accor property and have done in the past which was very odd. It’s still disappointing that the indoor spa / sauna and pool isn’t fixed and ready for use this has been out of action for many years now and the Mi Time day spa is no longer on site but still advertised. The beach house bar and restaurant is 100% better since being under new management but this obviously takes up car parking spots with locals who use this facility and leaving guests to park on the street which again is a faux pa and doesn’t make sense especially when you are paying $850 per night. I also had trouble prior to staying with getting in contact with the hotel , I tried on a number of occasions to get transferred and ring out , and I experienced the same thing when trying to book and ended up booking through booking . Com as Aanuka reception was in reachable , it was probably busy but there was no option to leave a message .

The location was great and my son‘s room met his needs and was set up appropriately. However my room was not. When I arrived at my room, despite asking on booking and being assured that it would not be a problem for a rollaway bed, or for the main bed to be split, to enable me and my teenage daughter to share the room, a fold out lounge was made up and re-folded with a heavy coffee table in front of it. When I explained to reception that I wanted the bed split or a roll away bed as booked I was treated rudely. I tried to explain that I did not wish to have a fold out lounge due to the need to put it up and down each night, and because of the difficulties I had physically in doing so with the room set up. Unfortunately the staff member I spoke with told me that bedding had been made for the booking and they would not do anything further about it as in her mind adequate bedding was provided. The woman was very rude when she spoke to me including raising her voice in front of other guests when I tried to explain that I physically couldn’t utilise the fold out lounge and move a heavy coffee table to use it. Given the situation I chose to leave reception and spent the stay sharing a bed with my teenage daughter, which certainly wasn’t ideal for either of us. I’ve stayed at the resort previously and had never had this experience before. On checkout day, I was cautious in speaking with and attending reception, but fortunately there was an alternate staff member who assisted me in check out who was extremely pleasant to deal with. The attitude of the first reception staff refusal to even consider my request certainly put a large negative impact on my long weekend stay.
