Hotel nice, but staff not helpful!

The hotel is nice and the rooms comfortable. But I was very dissatisfied by the behavior of a young lady of the staff. I asked her to put a few postcards stamped at the right rate into a letter box, as I couldn’t do it due to an early train. She accepted, but the postcards never arrived. I can assume she didn’t do it! Very disappointing behavior!

A pleasant stay with great service and facilities – just bear in mind it’s located on the outskirts of Buda.

I stayed at the Ibis City West as part of a Super Escapes holiday package and found it to be a very pleasant experience overall. The hotel was clean, bright, and modern with fresh décor. The buffet breakfast was varied and satisfying, and all our needs were well catered for by the polite and helpful staff. Reception went above and beyond – providing us with a kettle for the room, plug adaptors I’d forgotten to pack, razors before our spa trip, and access to an ironing room. The reception team, particularly the dark-haired gentleman, were excellent. A lovely touch was the free tea and coffee available at reception all day, along with a water machine and a comfortable seating area to relax. Our twin room, while compact, was perfectly adequate for a few nights. The shower room was a highlight, offering both an overhead rain shower and a smaller riser shower head. The only downside was the hotel’s location. It sits at the end of a metro line, about a 10-minute walk away, and is right beside a busy motorway. While we managed fine walking back together at night, I’d have felt less comfortable making the dark walk from the metro alone. Because of this, the hotel may be better suited to those with a car. Overall, a pleasant stay with great service and facilities – just bear in mind it’s located on the outskirts of Buda.

Avoid the fees, stay somewhere else and get a proper night's rest.

Centrally located by abandoned high-rise buildings, houses and cars this hotel is not close to any attractions. The beds are hard and non-conforming to the human body so you wake up sore and unrested. The pillows are flat and offer no support. The water pressure is so weak it is difficult to rinse off the soap when showering. But if you use their water downed soap you shouldn't have an issue. They charge a 12% service fee for everything from pouring a beer, to serving you a pizza, both that you all ready paying for. They charge a 10 euro a day fee for parking (street parking outside the hotel is free). They have a hornet issue outside of the dining area and signs posted to keep the patio doors closed due to the hornets right outside as the staff keeps the patio doors open allowing the hornets in the dining area. This was my 3rd time in Budapest and my 1st time at this hotel. I have paid less money for hotel stays in Budapest and received better service, such as a coffee pot and microwave in my room. This hotel offers neither. If in Budapest find any other hotel and enjoy your stay.

Nice hotel. Big windows and comfortable beds. New and stylish. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Good location. Recommend. Took off one star because our room was not vaccumed on day 2 despite it having a black carpet and needing it. The rest was excellent.

Clean but rooms so small!

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Quirky decorum with loads of colourful murals. Rooms were extremely small with no fridge, no kettle and no drawers for clothes. Very poor soundproofing as we could hear everyone that came and went into the lobby, a floor below. Breakfast was very ordinary, salads looked old and tired and fresh fruit looked ready for the bin. No fresh pastries beyond a couple of croissants. Air conditioner was either on or off, as no ability to change between settings. Thankfully the window opened. Long way from the city centre. Not recommended for tourists visiting Budapest
