Beautiful hotel with a few small downfalls. Checkin is a little slow, we didn’t arrive at peak time either. There wasn’t a staff member always present in the driveway area, so hard to know where to stop/unload/park etc. We did valet for one of our cars, one morning we waited for half an hour for someone to bring our car up, would have been nice to be informed rather than standing out the front with 3 kids. We booked 2 rooms interconnecting, when we checked in, they said we had 2 rooms on the same floor but not connected. I said that wouldn’t suit as we weee a family, they managed to get us interconnecting rooms but it had to be authorised by a manager. When we got to our rooms, one bathroom hadn’t been cleaned properly. The rooms themselves are stunning, comfy beds, lovely day bed chair. The pool area is good, the view is amazing!! it gets very busy, and there aren’t many chairs so we actually had to sit on the floor one visit (it was a long weekend so was very busy!!) Food from room service was good, it arrived quickly, quite expensive so we opted to not utilise this more than once. Housekeeping only cleaned one of our rooms one of the days; we had to call and request them to come back to clean. The location is amazing if you love shopping! So quick and easy to get into chadstone. Despite the downfalls, I would definitely revisit, but wouldn’t do so during peak times like holidays and long weekends!

The Altus Room on the 12th floor is an excellent venue for small corporate or social functions. It offers sweeping views of the suburbs and city skyline. Breakfast function was well catered for with attentive staff adding to the outstanding ambiance of the setting. One big negative is the $40 parking fee for a 90 min event!! I am attending an all day event in the city tomorrow with early bird parking costing just $17 for the whole day. $40 for 90mins in Chadstone is obscene. Note, this isn't valet parking but self parking in the multi level (empty) basement. Hardly a premium space. Will definitely not attend another function at this facility despite the top notch venue; alternatively seek free parking in the shopping centre and walk across if it is a must attend event.

Stayed here few years ago and it was an average experience. I try to avoid this Hotel if I can. This time we had no choice but to stay here again since our property is undergoing repairs and we live in the area. Upon arrival, there was no porter to be seen to help us with our luggage. Then we went inside to check in and saw the two porters hiding inside chatting away at the belldesk obviously enjoying the air conditioning since it is 35 degrees in Melbourne today. We lined up to check in. There were two receptionist. One of them was serving guest and the other one seemingly ignored us. After waiting 5mins in front of her, one of us asked one another, "shall we go check in" and we then said "well, the reception doesnt seem to be calling us and ignoring us!" The female receptionist must have then heard our conversation and only then looked up, she continued to ignore us, after few mins, she asked how can I help you? Upon checking us in, no smiles/welcoming or anything, she forgot to load our paid parking onto our room key, which we had to line up again at some stage later to load the parking. In fact, all staff that we came across did their job GRUDGINGLY (consistent with other reviews), so if you looking for a Hotel with BASIC service, it is NON-EXISTENT! We dined at Pastore restaurant, the 5 course meal has averave taste, I had tummy ache/diarrhoea, tried calling the Duty Manager, Leight, to cancel our Breakfast, and was greeted by the SAME BEGRUDGING attitude. "Dont care, No can do, it is what it is!" Now we understand where the rest of the staff got this poor, lack-lustre, unethusiastic, unmotivated attitude from - DEFINITELY TOP DOWN!!! Manager and all hotel staff requires retraining or send them elsewhere to work. It is such an UNDERSTATEMENT for this hotel to rate itself 5 star!!! The only 5 star for this hotel are the rates/prices which is extremely high and low value compared to other 5 star Hotels like Langham or Crown Towers Melbourne. I have travelled to 48 countries globally and stayed at various 5 star hotels, Hotel Chadstone ranks 2-3 stars at the most especially when it comes to service and amenities. I DO NOT RECOMMEND STAYING HERE if you can avoid it! PS : Though we do say the Manager in Training at Pastore Restaurant, Brian, did a great job at service recovery when we were treated with the same poor service by one of the waiters @mindourlanguagetravelgroup

Review of Hotel Chadstone M Gallery by Sofitel My recent one-night stay at Hotel Chadstone M Gallery by Sofitel left me with mixed feelings. Upon arrival, the check-in experience was underwhelming. The front desk agent’s approach felt cold, and they seemed reluctant to provide basic information about the hotel and amenities. I’m no stranger to travelling, despite arriving in casual attire after attending the Big Bash. A touch of hospitality training and a reminder of the importance of making guests feel welcome could go a long way here. On a brighter note, the room itself was a highlight. It was well-appointed, with modern décor and an efficient air conditioning system that kept the space perfectly comfortable. The bed and pillows were exceptionally comfortable, providing a restful night’s sleep. However, I did notice that not all sports channels were functional, which was a bit disappointing for someone hoping to unwind with a game after a long day. The hotel’s location is its major strength—right next to the main shopping centre, with plenty of dining options just a short walk away. This convenience added a lot to the overall experience. While the facilities met expectations, the service aspect left something to be desired. With a bit more attention to guest interactions, the experience could have been much more memorable.
