Accor official site says Fairmont Seoul is a five-star luxury destination but we were disappointed with the lack of any luxury feel to this hotel. I was not sure if Accor had recently reviewed it. Their lobby was narrow and small yet packed with tables and chairs for the cafe along with luggage left by customers. I felt that the area was disorganised and chaotic. This Fairmont had a pool, which was badly maintained. Accor elites were offered soft drink only. From the room we saw a river and social or private housing blocks. Design was sadly nothing to see. The sleeping quality was below average as their bedding was all thin or minimum for us. Fairmont Seoul did not fit a bathroom door properly and each time the door was opened it made bang noise. The hotel also failed to provide a dark room. We found that it was difficult to navigate the city in English and we needed to have many cab rides. The hotel location did not help our stay.

Sany provided great service in the GOLD lounge on the 3rd floor. The hotel seemed to be staffed with a lot of young, competent and well trained people. Great location for business travel or tourism. Seems like a much more lively version of the equally high quality Conrad hotel across the street.

My stay was absolutely wonderful. The staff was excellent in helping with anything I needed such as getting a taxi for me. The accommodation (room) was great with a lot of space and comfort. The ease of the lighting and shades being automated was awesome. The breakfast and dinner buffets were excellent with so many choices and a variety of options. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Seoul.
