Angsana Velavaru 5 stars

Wonderful laid back island with beautiful beaches and fantastic accommodation - all staff are amazing. Our room service person, Adhil was so attentive and always checking we had what we needed. He was thorough and always on hand but very discreet. All of the food and beverage team were great - especially Appa who was very friendly. The accommodation was an exceptionally high standard - private pool was immaculate and garden was beautiful. Sad to be leaving after a very relaxing 8 days

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Angsana Velavaru and truly felt like we were at home from the very first day. The restaurant was outstanding — every meal was delicious, beautifully prepared, and full of variety. The entire team was incredibly kind, welcoming, and always smiling. Everyone went above and beyond to make our stay special. We would especially like to thank those crew members: Litu, Jahid, Ardharsh, Shibin, Yazid, Mamun, Suraj, Matheen and Summith. Litu was truly exceptional and made a huge difference in our experience with his professionalism, warmth, and genuine care! Matheen - my room attendant - he was consistently professional and respectful of my privacy, doing an excellent job keeping the room spotless throughout my stay. We also loved the unique barefoot concept of the resort. Walking everywhere on soft sand made the whole experience feel relaxed, natural, and perfectly in harmony with the island. It added so much to the charm and atmosphere of the place. Angsana Velavaru is a beautiful resort with an amazing team, and we will definitely return. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a place that feels luxurious yet warm and personal.

This was our second visit to Angsana and once again it did not disappoint. This may not be one of the most luxurious resorts in the Maldives but it is certainly one of the best for service and general laid back vibe. From the second you arrive you are made to feel at home. It’s a tiny resort which is what we love about it. If you are looking for a true Maldive experience where you can truly disconnect, look no further than Angsana. We stayed in a beach villa which literally leads out onto the beach where the ocean is just a few feet away. The sand is white and the sea is clear, just stunning. The food is great with an amazing selection, always a fantastic variety which you don’t often see at an all inclusive resort. The highlight of my days was the daily excursion to the house reef which was a 15 minute boat ride away, this is complimentary and the house reef is spectacular, not a day went by where we did not swim with giant turtles and reef sharks. The colours were vivid and the snorkelling was so much fun, the staff were always on hand to help and make sure your snorkelling experience went smoothly. As I said, if you are looking for a resort with lots to do in terms of activities, multiple pools and restaurants, hundreds of guests, maybe this is not the resort for you. This is a resort that captures you with its charm and simplicity. The staff are attentive and so friendly, Apa in the main restaurant was there to greet us every single day, catering to our every need before we even had to ask. The bars are fully stocked and the evening entertainment is kept simple with karaoke, DJ night and also movie nights, just perfect. We cannot wait to go back, this is a truly magical place.

Wow! We have just returned from our 12 night stay at Angsana Velavaru - and are missing it already. This is our third trip to The Maldives - and our best so far. The resort is simply stunning. We stayed in an overwater suit (315) a location which the resort should be truly proud of. The views are amazing, the vibe is one of total relaxation and the on site restaurant had enough variety to try something new every night. All of the team there seemed happy to help and were extremely polite, and there were enough activities to keep you busy if you wanted a distraction from the amazing blue waters ( but why would you). You could snorkel the drop off as a couple, or join the daily 11am trips to different parts of the reef, to see the abundance of marine life - including turtles and some not too small sharks! We also tried the evening fishing, canoeing, and bird feeding - and could visit the island anytime you wanted, including for various themed meals in the evening. So many incredible things to remember! A special shout out to ; Suoodh - our waiter who made each meal time feel special. He would recommend things, warned us if things may be too spicy, and chatted about life in the Maldives with such affection. Jahid - how would the bar possibly run without him. He remembered our favourite drinks, made sure we never had to visit the bar, and made each cocktail with great skill and consistency Irey - our room attendant, who kept the room so spotlessly tidy, and finished every visit with “ is there anything else I can do for you today?” - which probably summed up the attitude of every team member we encountered! If the holiday could have been improved it would be a few very minor things. Maybe a board telling us about tide times to help decide when best to snorkel. Maybe another beer on tap as Carlsberg is probably not a 5 star choice, and maybe a better ferry schedule, as for example if you wanted to feed the birds at 10:30, you needed to get the 9:45 ferry from the villas, and couldn’t return until 11:30, which was nearly 2 hours away from your pool. But I’m being very picky now ! Will definitely put this on our list of resorts to return to, and hopefully in the not too distant future!

We just spent 11 nights at Angsana and had the best time. This is our 5th trip the The Maldives and definitely one of our favorites. The price was reasonable and the location is breathtaking. The blue water is stunning. We stayed in a beach villa and although they are a bit dated, they suited our needs, we're right on the beach, and well maintained. No complaints. A special shout out to a few of the employees: Laila, who took care of us each day for lunch and each evening for dinner, was AMAZING! She was so attentive, friendly, and hard-working. She even arranged a special table in the beach for us on our last night there. Shibin and Sunil were also outstanding at the pool bar. They were both always smiling, accommodating, and sometimes brought us drinks before we even asked. Sumith worked in the lobby and made beautiful designs in the sand to welcome guests, but he also led water aerobics each morning at the pool. He was always positive and encouraging, but still gave us a good workout! The service here is top notch and the location cannot be beat. You can walk around the entire island in 15-20 minutes and are bound to see a sting ray or some sort of marine life every single time. We loved it!
