Wow! What an amazing holiday. Everything was perfect. All of the hotel staff are fantastic - they can’t do enough to help and always have a smile. The sports team were all wonderful - I’ve never done so many different sports on holiday and loved them all. The food was amazing. The buffet so varied and delicious and one of the best steaks ever at the steak house. The room was kept spotlessly clean. A highlight was the evening reception for the start of the festive season. Really magical. The eye for detail really elevated the experience and the whole holiday surpassed our hopes! We will be back. Thank you to everyone at The Rixos.

Absolutely amazing hotel ..

We have just returned from 10 nights at this amazing hotel .. the staff are the reason that this hotel is just the best.. they literally cannot do enough for you.. the hotel is stunning .. the food is fabulous.. entertainment fantastic .. the little touches like coming round with ice creams through the day.. the cool boxes at the end of your sunbeds .. guest relations walking round everyday checking that you have no problems.. Sarah at the patisserie went out of her way every day to speak to us.. she was so lovely and always had a happy smiling face all the time.. Ahmed in the nargile lounge always made sure our glasses weren’t never empty ..and always had time for a friendly chat with us.. I had read some negative reviews recently about this hotel and was apprehensive about coming but the minute we walked through the door I knew they were all wrong.. I had had this hotel recommended and I would 100 recommend it myself and we will 100 be returning..

Kumaran He was very kind and helpful during our stay. Always smiling and greetings. Buffet restaurant amazing food. Kids really enjoyed at swimming pool . Rixy kids club wonderfull. Staff at the Lobby very helpfull and professional always welcoming us.

A piece of paradise

The Rixos was the best all inclusive food and staff wise that we have ever been too. All of the staff from the evening we entered the Rixos until the morning that we left were constantly there to speak too, advice, make sure we had everything we needed. There were so many wonderful people so to name only a few would be unfair. People reading this review may think that the continuous kindness is a slight exaggeration but hand on heart this is how it was. The Turquoise restaurant , The Breeze poolside bar and surroundings, the patisserie made us feel so very special. Food wise everything we had was excellent, many times we chose our meat or fish and it was cooked to order. This is a family hotel but going in November there weren’t many children around. The temperature was perfect, the hotel was lovely, the staff were amazing, the restaurants all did wonderful food. I would totally recommend this hotel and would love to return.

Lovely 10 day stay with a baby and a toddler

Arrival A little bit disappointed with our arrival. We arrived quite late in the evening after a long flight and the kids were very tired so we were keen to head to bed as quickly as possible so we skipped dinner and just headed straight to the room. Even though we had requested two cots, these were not in the room . This was quickly rectified once I enquired but meant we had to wait for them to arrive. The hotel helped us bring our luggage up to the room. Nothing in the room was set up for kids. We have stayed at other expensive hotels before where they had provided us with a changing mat and potty in the bathroom for example or some colouring pens for the toddler. We had pre booked a transfer from the airport. The car was big and spacious and well air-conditioned and the driver was very friendly offering us water straight away. We had pre-booked an infant and a toddler car seat and these were in the car however they were not set up properly, which was slightly annoying as it meant we first had to strap them in properly before we could set off on our journey to the hotel. By law kids can travel without a car seat in Dubai just on your lap in taxis and I observed some people doing that. The room We had booked a junior suite as I wanted to ensure we had two separate rooms for the kids to sleep in so they don’t wake each other up at night. It was huge with a massive bathroom and a separate toilet attached to the second room as well. The rooms connected with two sliding doors which was perfect for what we needed. Very big bed with loads of space around it. As it turns out our toddler was too big for the cot so we built him a little floor bed by putting the mattress from the second bed on the floor which worked really well. The air conditioning and lighting system seems overly complicated, but all very modern. A massive TV in the room which we didn’t use. The main bed was big and comfortable although ours creaked very loudly with every movement which meant I didn’t dare move at night in fear of waking up the baby (and I think we did indeed wake up the baby a few times!). The mini bar was restocked every day free of charge for this type of room. The food and drink Plenty of food options all throughout the day which is great. This was the reason why we chose all inclusive even though we didn’t consume any alcohol, it meant we never had to worry about finding food or drink for us all and the kids. The main buffet restaurant is open for breakfast lunch and dinner and they have quite long opening times which makes it quite flexible. They also have a little soft play corner which was great for keeping our toddler entertained whilst we prepared dinner. There is also a little baby corner with some bland food and a blender so I whizzed up a purée for the baby every night in there. They also have some typical toddler food available there every day such as chicken nuggets, pasta pizza, fries. Although we tried somewhat unsuccessfully to broaden our toddlers pallet by offering him some of the exciting food from the main buffet. Lots of choice in the main buffet lots of salads, different foods from various cuisines there’s a grill outside where they prepare meats for you lots and lots of dessert options as well fresh fruit et cetera, there is also a small version of the buffet restaurant near the pool. It is similar food but I think only a subselection as it is slightly smaller. It does feel a bit calmer. We ended up going there one morning but decided that with the kids the main restaurant was better as it has the play corner and also I felt less conscious about them making noise and a mess. They provide clean chairs and are great at cleaning up after you. A big thank you to the staff as we always left such a mess with our baby just new on her weaning journey. There were various à la carte restaurants which look very nice. You need to make a booking beforehand. We didn’t go to these, as I felt our kids would not be suited to them. But if we had gone without the kids or slightly more chilled kids, we definitely would’ve checked out some of the options as well. There is a patisserie in the reception lobby where they offer cakes pastries dates some mini sandwiches, coffee et cetera it is open all day until late at night. We actually ended up just getting some sandwiches and sweets from there a few days for lunchtime and took them out to the beach with us rather than heading to the buffet at lunch. they also have an amazing fresh fruit store by the main pool where you can go any time in the day and they freshly cut some lovely fruit for you which we also made use of. Lots of bars around. As I mentioned, we didn’t drink many alcoholic drinks, but we made use of them offering various mocktails, milkshakes, iced coffee et cetera. Beach/ pool Different pool options throughout the hotel grounds. There was the main big pool with a swim up bar, then there is more of a family pool which is great for kids as it has a really gradual slope in, there is a lap pool for adults only and there is also the splash pool in the kids club for kids. All look very clean and a good temperature. The beach is nice with soft sand but you can tell it’s not natural. Very shallow way into the water which was lovely and warm even in December. Lots of sun loungers available on the beach, we never had a problem finding one, but then again we didn’t go in peak season. They have lifeguards everywhere by the pool and the beach and they also provide little swim vests for kids as floating aids which was great. Great service on the beach and by the pool, staff comes around and asks if you would like a drink and they clear away any rubbish or empty glasses you have. They have cabanas on the beach, which I think certain room types can reserve, but I never got a straight answer when I asked… Entertainment & Fitness The fact that we travelled with two kids, we didn’t explore the entertainment schedule at all. They do have various life music et cetera on offer throughout the week. I never felt like it interfered with us from a noise perspective though which was great. The fitness offering is great they have a good gym on site, there’s also a jungle gym outside. They offer various water sports activities (although I think you need to pay extra for this) which again we didn’t get a chance to explore. They also offer various fitness classes throughout the day, some standard ones and some funkier ones. I had the pleasure of trying out aqua jump, aqua pole, aqua fit mat, kangoo jumps, antigravity yoga - all of which were good fun! Kids entertainment Reason we chose this hotel. The great kids offering. Already mentioned how they accommodate the kids in the main buffet restaurant, but the main draw is the onsite kids club. Although our Toddler at only 2 1/2 years of age was too young to be left there we still had lots of fun accompanying him. The kids club has two sides, the toddler town which you can explore with your kids. It includes a little soft play area, various toys and also a nap / nursing room. We went there most days in the late afternoon for an hour and let the baby and toddler have a little play around with the toys. It was also great for our baby just practising crawling. On the other side is the junior town which is a part of the kids club where you can leave older children. They also have a program of activities throughout the day. Forest Example they do face painting every evening which our toddler loved going to, and they run a kids disco every night. outside of the kids club there is a little playground and also the splash park. There are some loungers and the grassy area around the splash park so this is another good area to hang out with kids. The splash Pool has some some little waterfalls and slides, et cetera. After some encouragement our toddler loved going in there. This is also an arts and craft corner and a Lego corner which is open for a couple of hours every day. Once a week they run a kids festival with bouncy castles and music. Location For staying in the hotel, the location is great. It was about a 40 minute transfer by car from the airport. The hotel is located right at the very end edge of the palm, so it is quiet. You get a very nice view over some of Dubai skyline which makes a very nice sunset. The hotel does offer a free shuttle twice a day to both the Atlantis waterpark which is included if you stay for three or more days at the hotel and also to the mall of Emirates. If you are planning on exploring Dubai more than the location might be a bit annoying as it does take quite awhile even to just get off the palm itself. We used the shuttle twice, once to visit the aquarium at the Atlantis and once to go to the water park. Other I believe the hotel offers bottle cleaning and sterilising service free of charge. I also saw lots of people request milk/ water from the bars for bottles. I breastfed my baby around the hotel and this never seemed to cause any issues (I only saw one other mum breastfeeding). The Aquapark at the Atlantis is great. I was worried at first our kids were too young but it caters for all ages! I went into the lazy river with my toddler. And then we all went to the splashers zone which is especially catered for kids, lots of slides and spray things for little kids! They also offer flotation devices there but in the shallow kids pools you don’t need them. Thank yous It really is true - the staff at the Rixos are great and make it such a great place!! A few special mentions here, but a big thanks to all for making us so welcome, and especially my son, who loved chatting to everyone! Life guard Confidence is the best!! She was so great with my son, he went to see her every day! Puma, the “boss life guard” was also superb. Thanks to all the waiters and waitresses in the buffet, and apologies again for our daily mess. Thawder and Anupa in particular welcomed us with a smile every time! Nelson at the beach had good banter with my son! Janaka at the Breeze bar made the best hot chocolate for my son - he kept on wanting to come back. And Kehme at the breeze bar was also super friendly. My son was obsessed with pianist Shirley (?), she played beautiful songs in the afternoons in the lobby and even played a special rendition of baby shark just for him! All the staff at the kids club are great, but special thanks to Kateryna for playing with our son. Similarly, all the exercise staff were great, but special thanks to Kate who bounces around like a bunny all day full of energy, and Heve (?) who tried to teach me to yoga in the air. Overall, it’s a great hotel, we had a lovely time and as I mentioned, the main thing that struck me was how friendly and welcoming everyone was to our kids!
