Sofitel Baru Calablanca

Great place, very quiet and relaxing. The food is good. The attention is outstanding, specially from LUIS. He takes care of the pool next to the mainbuilding (calablanca) . Always taking care of us and made us feel welcome. He deserves an applause Really shows the commitment of the hotel to the locals by hiring quality people. We will be back

Excellent service and attention from the staff. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous, the hotel is beautiful, will definitely be returning for an extended stay as we only came for the day. We tracked via catamaran and it made the trip to the island so fun!

The service provided by the hotel was excellent. In particular Noohayla, she really went out of her way to make it a pleasant and memorable stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel for visits to casablanca

Dreadful staff. this was my second stay at the Sofitel Baru. on my second day I went to the breakfast with my service dog. at the entrance there was a lady who was so charming to the Colombian people who waited in line just in front of me and then looked at me in a mean way telling very rude that my dog cannot enter the restaurant that I must carry her in a box! That was not the case in my previous stay and also not the day before! I asked her in Spanish that my friend who is a Celebrity did definitely not carry his dog around in a box during his stay in Baru. I then asked for the manager so this was the next arrogant person who showed up saying he is the manager of the restaurant whereas I did request the manager of the hotel! so anyways it was a major drama till I could finally get my table and it was even more annoying because I was late for a zoom business meeting because of all of this. But worse was to come. tried to arrange the transfer to Cartagena and concierge would not reply for 40 min. Dont even bother to call from the room they will not reply at all or transfer you around so you can explain your problem 20 times over and over again! I decided to go back to Cartagena by Catamaran because I was told the boat will leave at 12 and the taxi could only be there at 12.40 I hurried to the Catamaran and then found myself sitting there for almost 1 hour because they kept on waiting for other guests who didnt care much about any schedule. no drinks offered whatsoever during the waiting time. just a useless hostess on board who was posing as if her daddy owned the boat. so the other guests Colombians showed up finally and we could leave. the hostess was busy all the way to take photos of the Colombian guests. would would never ever bother to ask me if I wanted a pic or drink or if my dog needed water (temperatures are felt like 40 celsius) I then asked her where the taxi transfer will be waiting. she said at the exit of the port. so when we arrived I waited for 20 min for a car which never showed up. I then asked the hostess where is the driver and she replied in a very arrogant way: you did not book a car. I said yes I did! She again : hääää nooooo in a super arrogant tone. I then showed her the whats app messages with one of the Sofitel managers who confirmed the price of the car. The hostess replied again: hmmm but they did not book it for youuuuu! She eventually asked if she should call a taxi I said yes! Heat was felt like 45 degrees my dog could not stand anymore in the sun her paws were burning. She was pulling me around to escape the sun. I stood there alone with 2 rimova suit cases. The Hostess did not call the taxi and just left! I then grabbed a car in the street and the taxi driver was putting my luggage inside. Suddenly the hostess showed up talking to the driver in Spanish explaining that she needs the car for her client from the boat (lol I was on the same boat!) and that they are going to do a longer drive! The taxi driver then took my luggage out of the car and left me in the street. My poor dog was hyperventilating and I had to get her out of the car. I was very angry and told the hostess in Spanish that the CEO of Accor Group is a friend. She laughed at me, and made a very disrespectful geste with her hand saying : hahaha yeah right, get going…. Hmmm yeah right and I will have this going all over social media very viral! I have lived in hotels as a long stay guest for several years but I never cam across such a treatment! my dog was close to a heat stroke and her paws have been completely burned! too bad I cant upload any video here so you could see my poor doggy suffering!

Excellent meal and ambiance next to the ocean air. Eduardo provided us with meal recommendations that made it super easy. Highly recommend the garlic shrimp starters, rib eye for mains with plantains sides, finishing off with a sumptuous Pina Colada flavored desert 🍍🏝️😋
