It was a great experience. Mark gave me a lot of advice on solo travel, like how to get a SIM card when you first arrive, where to go for sightseeing, and more. I will consider this place as the starting and ending point of my New Zealand journey. As a tourist, I felt truly taken care of.

The location of this hotel is the best thing about it, you can’t get much better. The staff are friendly but you can tell they are understaffed, we felt bad for the one lady on reception who clearly was doing her best but there was multiple groups trying to check in and one person doing it so it took a while… we ended up going to a nearby pub and coming back a hour or so later when the rush had died down. I’d recommend upgrading your room as the entry level room we booked was tiny and dark. The bathroom especially the shower needed to be cleaned better but overall an OK stay but not a 5 star stay.

Close to ferries and buses. Lots of food and coffee choices close by

Clean and comfortable. The bed is comfortable and the sheets feel soft. Large bath towels. Decent size tv . Free water bottles. Plenty of coffee places close by to choose from. Many restaurants and fast food places are close. Lots of clothing stores including high end designer shops right out the door of hotel.

Central and a good place to explore Auckland

Our agent booked this hotel as the starting point of our 4 week tour around NZ. The hotel is ideally located for exploring Auckland. Centrally situated and close to the port. However, as others have said whilst the hotel is in a high end shopping area, the area deteriorates a few blocks to the north with seedy and tatty shops. We had a room in the 8th floor that was reasonable - an odd shape but a good sized bedroom and bathroom. Staff all helpful and friendly. The only criticism was the breakfast wasn’t particularly good - little selection and you had to ask for rather than be offered barista coffees. However would certainly stay here again if we return.

Definitely not a five star hotel. If you want to have a good night sleep, avoid the night when the nightclub is open.

We stayed here for four nights and I’ve just checked out. This stay marked the first leg of a bucket list holiday starting in New Zealand. We chose this hotel because it is a member of the accord group and classed itself as a five star hotel.We like boutique hotels and given this was right in the city centre of Auckland we thought it would fit the bill perfectly. Check-in was fine I’ll be a little rushed. We were staying in a junior suite on the eighth floor (room 805) after a growing 42 hour journey the first night we mainly just zonked out we had breakfast each day in the hotel restaurant which is called cooks and this was adequate but nothing out of this world. The main reason I have given this such a poor review is the fact that the hotel is located on top of a nightclub and that nightclub likes to blast out music from 11 pm till approximately 3:30 am on Fridays and Saturdays. as a result, we got no sleep whatsoever the two of the four nights we stayed. It was exceptionally loud and even woke me from a jetlagged sleep. Now I appreciate that this is beyond the control of the hotel but I think what the hotel is guilty of is not advising potential customers that they are likely to have little or no sleep in particular rooms adjacent to the nightclub. We did try to get a room change but the day that they wanted us to move we had a day trip booked and weren’t able to facilitate this for us. As a member of a code we were also celebrating an anniversary and birthday whilst on this trip which we advised the hotel prior to our arrival. There was no mention of this. With exception of Mark on concierge the staff in the hotel were pretty much ambivalent and uninterested in us as customers and even when we registered concerned about the noise no one contacted us to offer any kind of solution. Aesthetically, the hotel is definitely not a five star not experienced the issues with the music and loud noise during the night this rating might have been a three or four .
