Perfect base for weekend getaway

Checked in the early hours of the AM after arriving on a midnight flight from AUS Such a comfy bed, that mattress topper is DEVINE!! It almost came home with me 😂 ;) Such a great sleep every night of my stay. Great room with view over city and harbour. Gold status recognised with a lovely welcome card and sweet treat. Bar staff were awesome serving a beautiful glass of NZ white wine even though the bar area was closed for a function. All the staff were welcoming and friendly. Was a perfect base for my weekend escape to Auckland.

Arrived on a very cold wet day and check-in process was great as Jodie was extremely friendly and efficient. She checked our bags in and then had them delivered to the room when the room was available. There’s a nice free chocolate bar at 3 PM and then a happy hour at four with a beautiful view of the harbor from the top of the restaurant. The room was extremely clean

Family Holiday in Auckland

Overall the service at the hotel reception was bad. When I arrived at the hotel, no staffs were there to help with my luggages. I have to push the hotel luggage trolley to load all my luggages by myself. Besides, I was told by the hotel reception that they do provide kids with free ice cream throughout their stay here at hotel. However, when my kid requested for the ice cream, he got a very unfriendly response from the hotel front desk staff, Hilda. During the first day of my stay, I realise that there are no “Make Up Room” card at my room door handle, I checked with the hotel front desk and was told that the hotel do not provide such card and they will make up the room as long as there are no “Do Not Disturb” card placed at the door of my room. On the second day of my stay, I went out at 830am and came back to my hotel room at 3pm and my room was not make up. I made a call to the reception, in which the same staff Hilda answered my call, the response I get from her is there are a lot of rooms to make up and they are unable to make up my room in time. It is really disappointing. Hotel breakfast at Boda was good and service staff at the restaurant are friendly. The only good thing about the hotel is the location which is very convenient as it is near to the shopping street in Auckland City Centre.

I am also concerned to hear about your experience at the front desk regarding your child’s ice cream request and the follow-up on your housekeeping service. While Hilda is one of our most consistently praised team members for her friendliness and professionalism, it is clear that on this occasion our service did not align with what you should expect from us. Please know that there is no set time for housekeeping, however, guests are always welcome to request a preferred time for their room to be serviced. I will be reinforcing with the team the importance of clear communication around this to avoid any disappointment. On a positive note, I am glad you enjoyed your breakfast experience at BODA and found our location convenient for your family’s time in Auckland. Thank you again for your comments, which help us identify areas for improvement. I do hope we have the chance to welcome you back in the future and provide you with the level of service that so many of our guests, including families, experience and appreciate. Night shift staff gave me and my friends top tier service, made sure we were comfortable and had the nices rooms with great amenities as well as a great view. It’s also a nice area to get food or do some retail therapy too. Highly recommend this hotel if you wanna hang out with your friends or family

The hotel is located in an excellent area with lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. 4 Square shopping market next door for food if you want snacks etc in the room. Daily Bread good for coffee and breakfast next door. Room was large enough for us with good show nice selection of beverages in the fridge and teas and coffees. Staff excellent and very helpful from front desk to, cleaner Bien, Jackie in the bar and the restaurant staff. Taxi from the airport was $120 while return via Uber was $57. WE did several tours and pick up points were within an easy walk or dirct from hotel.
