Brand new hotel close to T3 Heathrow. Extremely comfortable, well designed rooms may not be extra spacious but have all you need for a nights stay. restaurant bright and ultra modern with a good choice of food at reasonable rates. Well stocked bar with an excellent pint of London Pride. Service throughout is excellent. Only gripe is that parking a car will cost you £16 per night.

The front desk staff were fantastic and welcoming when we arrived. The room was very comfortable. I loved how modern it was and we were able to get a good nights sleep to deal with jet lag.

As we arrived at the wrong Novotel not far away, my tip would be to check the address carefully when you travel. The local roads are very difficult to navigate if you make a wrong turn. This could include a trip back down the M4 and return from the first junction.

No tele in the room . Finally had to call from the room, nobody answered in the reception, then called the room service people, they in turn said, they would ask the reception to call us. The answer was no tv service in the whole area, The receptionist even said, she s lives not far from there, and there is no tele service even in her house. Later on I found out that is not true, as the next hotel, which was five minutes away had tele service. Spoke to the manager, who wasn't very helpful. In front of the manager receptionist, arguing that she informed us when we checked in that no TV service available? My only question was , then why would we have to ring from our room, if that was the case, to which her answer was ''you were not paying attention when I said that '', and ask your colleague, she will tell you!!

On check in I was carrying bags work equipment etc and a small rubbish bag of food. At check in I had to battle with reception who knew nothing about our corporate parking rate (but this isn't new, when I stopped here before it's the same most times). I then asked if reception had a bin for my rubbish, which the answer was no, and said I need to go to the bar. Travelling for 3 hours, with hands full of bases, case etc I asked if I could use the one I could see under the reception counter. NO was the answer, as it wasn't big enough (it was ample big enough). I was then told to take it to my room and dispose of it there. Ironically it was the same bin in my room as behind reception. Then something else hit me, it was the body odour of the receptionist, it was aweful to the point where I had to step back from the counter. I won't be stopping here again.

Check in could have been better. Room was fine. Had dinner in the hotel after arriving back from holiday. We both had fish and chips and enjoyed same. At breakfast there was no one to check if you had paid for breakfast and it was a buffet. You have to get everything including tea and coffee yourself. There was not much food in any of the chafers. Price was acceptable.

The hotel was lovely. The room was spacious and clean and I liked that you had complimentary water and a fridge. The check-in and check-out was quick and the staff were helpful regarding transport to the airport terminal. The only downside was when I arrived there was a party happening in reception. The music was loud and could be heard from my room and didn’t stop until gone midnight. I couldn’t sleep until the music stopped which wasn’t great when I had an early morning flight. I was only told about this upon arrival to the hotel, if I had known prior to this I would’ve chosen to stay in a different hotel.

Check-in was quick and staff polite. I have Accor Gold status but left it to the staff to pick up on this and see if an upgrade would be offered. It was done although it was a last minute realisation and the young man checking us in hurriedly adjusted our room number. That said it was done unprompted and we were also issued vouchers for a free drink. Basic info on the hotel was given and we had no issues others seem to have had with reception staff in fact they were polite, courteous and helpful throughout our overnight stay. I cashed in some status points for this stay and this was known to the staff on arrival ( I read that someone else had an issue when doing the same but no issues so maybe/ hopefully that was just a mistake made on that occasion) The place was highly stylised and no expense was spared with interior design with some great architectural and furniture choices. All public areas were spotless. The rooms were a decent size when you factor in that this is an airport hotel and were well appointed. I found the charged glass between the bathroom and bedroom a fun touch however when in the shower I managed to lean against the switch which turned the glass transparent. Fortunately I was sharing the room with my partner and not my teenage daughter otherwise I think she'd still be having nightmares now! It's maybe a slightly badly design/ placing of the switch as knocking that switch could be very awkward depending on whom you're sharing the room with. Now for the negatives: Room. I dont think i've experienced such an unintelligent set of light switches in my life and i've stayed in a fair few hotel rooms. I dont mind you going crazy design wise in the hotel but in my room I want switches which make sense and don't have to be hunted down( the angle lamp!) Bar: It was far from busy at any point but despite being sat in the bar area there was no table service which i'd expect in a 4 star hotel especially when the most ppl around at one time was 8 people. Empty glasses sat piling up on the table with no effort to clear them by any of the numerous staff who walked by. Service charge was added onto the bill each time we ordered a drink despite me having to go to the bar to order the drinks. I'm a happy tipper but i'm not paying you for doing the bare minimum of your job and when I need to fetch my own drinks and clear my own glasses. ( In fairness when I raised this at check out the staff apologised and removed the charges without a fuss). Restaurant: It has an indian theme and sticks to it pretty rigidly. If you don't like Indian food( or like us just weren't in the mood for it) then your pretty much out of luck. There are some alternatives but these are an afterthought and boring as anything. For a hotel based at an international airport I don't think having such a rigidly themed menu really works. We actually ended up having a takeaway delivered which is money not going to the hotel and I think I saw probably a half dozen other people do the same thing so it's obviously revenue the place is bleeding out due to it's F&B choice. Overall: Expectations of any airport hotel are never that high but this place did pretty well. I don't know if there has been a change of staff on reception, they have been re trained, just an overall improvement or we were simply lucky but we experienced none of the issues others seem to have had in the last few months and being honest I was keeping a close eye on them based on multiple other reviews about the place. A few little niggles that could do with attending to but for what the place is it did perfectly well and if I wasn't using the Sofitel then I'd happily pick this place as an alternative again.
