Great location but ...

Peter M Couples - TripAdvisor review

The location was great. The room was a little cramped and the beds were too firm. TAlthough the cooked breakfast was OK (not great) the fresh fruit was not very fresh (a bit slimy). Not sure I would stay there again.

Dear Peter M, Thank you for your feedback which will be discussed with the relevant Departmental Heads. Kind regards

Friendly staff, building and room really needs some work

Friendly staff on arrival and the lobby area is very nice. Whatever smell they were pumping through there was lovely. We were incorrectly advised on check in that, as an Accor member, we were entitled to a free drink in the bar but we then found out that this only applies to silver level members only. Mistakes happen though and the receptionist was very apologetic We were given a “Privilege” room that was a good size with a nice bathroom, a Nespresso machine, views of the Mersey and near to the lifts. The bed was ok - reasonably comfortable and of a good size and the sheets appeared to be clean. The air conditioning/heating seemed to work well. Unfortunately the net curtain had some mould on it, there were stains on the floor and the decor in general looked almost as out of date as a Britannia hotel. Every aspect of the room bar the bathroom looked like it needed completely stripping back and redecorating. The building looks well past it’s best on the outside as well - the white paint in particular has clearly been taking a battering from the elements for some time. Not great for what is supposedly a four star hotel. We have also stayed in the Mercure in Sheffield City centre and there is simply no comparison. We might stay here again as it’s an ok place to just rest your head, but not at a four star hotel price point.

Trail819295 Families - TripAdvisor review

The room was nice and a great view but terrible noise from the room next door at night. It felt like they were in our own room. We also left something in our room, went back before anyone else had checked in and it had mysteriously disappeared. Have emailed the hotel twice and no one has had the courtesy to reply. Disappointing

Dear Trail819295, I apologise that you have not had a response to date, please do contact ha0h9-RD@accor.com. Kind regards

Great base for exploring Liverpool

Anne H Couples - TripAdvisor review

Brilliant location and lovely staff! This was a return visit for us and we’d booked a superior room and when we arrived we were upgraded to a suite! The hotel is right at the waterfront with phenomenal views. The beds are big and comfortable and the bar isn’t over priced. Breakfast is the usual hotel breakfast but they are willing to accommodate specific requests. A great base for exploring Liverpool. We found staff at all levels to be kind and friendly. Highly recommended - enjoy!

Dear Anne H, Thank you for such a lovely review and of course the 5 bubbles. We do hope you will visit us again. Kind regards

We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed our stay and would stay again. The beds were very comfortable and we had a great view of the river and beautiful buildings. It was across the road from the ferry on the mersey which we did .The bar was fairly basic but ok.
