Well located, great stay

The hotel is located right in the city centre, very close to some of the landmarks including the cathedral and Exeter Castle. I had to reschedule my stay due to rail strikes, and staff at the reception helped me throughout the process, and were extremely helpful and approachable. However, I wish the standards of cleaning and housekeeping would be the same. Despite me purposefully leaving the leaflet to clean my room at the door, the staff cleaned it only 2 times throughout my 7 day stay. The water and coffee/ tea were replenished only twice throughout my stay. Moreover, one day I came to my room and found the "don't disturb" leaflet at my door, despite me not putting it there in the first place and the room not cleaned again. Overall, it's a wonderful hotel with amazing reception desk staff, however the cleaning standards should definitely be reconsidered in order for guests to fully enjoy their stay.

This was the best hotel of our entire 4 week trip around the uk. Great location, charming building, helpful staff. The only downside was no aircon in the middle of a heatwave. Would definitely stay here again
