Nice enough. Well positioned with the golf course. Overpriced.

My phone didn’t work for 2 days, my meal was not cooked to my liking and still charged full price, if you’re going to charge a premium for a menu item, it’s best you know how to cook it

The location is 10/10, the sunsets were perfect sitting by the pool. Although there seems to be major issues with customer service. The accomodation is away from the main reception, no one offers to help you with your bags. This was fine for us as we are abled bodied, although this would be difficult for some. On the Sunday my partner and I went to go order food and drinks, instead we were witness to an argument between a male and female employee regarding where the glass cups and plastic cups go. This was not a funny argument, or playful banter - it was serious with the male employee being extremely rude and the girl trying to stand up for herself. She then comes takes out orders, clearly in a very bad mood although unfortunately this was now our problem and customer service was 2/10. Empty/dirty glasses and dinnerware sit out for hours with no one cleaning them up outside or in the pool area. Someone smashed a glass in the carpark, I saw multiple of the staff members walk past it and see it so I didn’t bother reporting it because they already knew, yet broken glass stayed in the car park for 3 days straight. We only ate at the bar once, the view is perfect, I would have loved to enjoy it more although the atmosphere is off. It seems as though most of the staff hate their job, no one is happy to be there. Everything is a hassle, no one is smiling, no one is happy to serve you. If The Sebel is a toxic work environment, they need to fix this and this is not the staffs fault. The nicest staff member to us was the grounds keeper/gardener. The buffet breakfast is over priced for what it is, eggs taste like water, bacon dripping in too much oil, not much variety - I just nibbled on fruit, although with this said fruit variety was lacking also. I would not recommend anyone pays for the buffet, you can go into the town and spend less on good quality breakfast food at a local cafe. Room service is so hard to order, we just didn’t bother. On the night we were tired and wanted to stay in we went and got subway. One of the days the weather was perfect, we sat around the pool for hours relaxing. We decided to stay there and order lunch, the QR codes at the pool show pizza is available, although upon ordering this a staff member comes to tell us pizza is not cooked during the weekdays, yet the QR menu only shows pizza available no other food options nor is it advertised well that pizza is weekend only. The Sebel need to fix the QR code in the pool as it’s completely wrong, it also only shows 2 types of beers and no alcohol free drinks. You need to leave the pool area everything you want to order something. Room service is extremely slow, our room was still being made up at 3pm (check in time) The next day we were out for the majority of the door and put the sign on to make up the room, yet we only received a knock while getting ready for dinner at around 4:30pm to ask if we wanted our room made up or needed anything. The cleaning staff fill the hallway, which is fine I respect their roles and them as people although in multiple occasions we have to move to the side or get out of the way and wait for them to do whatever they were doing before we could continue walking down the hallway, there was little courtesy of quickly just letting us pass. They are also not thorough in making up the room, I had left dirty towels on the ground and they weren’t collected. The bed was fluffed up one of the days and not actually made. I spilt sunscreen one of the days and didn’t realise although no one wipes down surfaces so why then when I returned to my room. We were there for 5 days, so the floor got so dirty and dusty, no one vacuumed. The outside area/patio needs cleaning, bird poo was all over our outdoor setting when we arrived. I had disinfectant wipes and had to clean everything down. This should be apart of the routine cleaning. Also on arrival, there is no booklet of local things to do and see. I am unsure if this is strategic to get people to stay on resort and spend their money, although I do believe this is needed to support tourist to the area who has never been before. I did appreciate the bottle of wine left for us on arrival, the grounds were immaculate, the views were perfect although I probably would never return unless management has changed and the customer service was fixed. QR codes need to be updated and you need to make it easy to order room service. Please support your employees, you advertise an award winning hotel and although from the outside it seems this is the case, you have major systemic issues that are not worth the premium you charge.

We found the Sebel Yarrawonga to be a great to visit and stay for our weekend away. Our room was extremely comfortable,. All the staff we dealt with were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our dinner in the Stock and Bull restaurant.
