Great historical location- great service - loved the location. Enormous history - centuries of use. Service team very friendly and helpful. Right down street from red light distric offering colorful entertainment for a walkabout. Highly recommended!

Amsterdam is beautiful and interesting in the Wintertime, and I recommend a stay at this wonderful historic hotel, which looks even better than normal with its Christmas lights and decorations, and is well worth going to after these come down as well! I won't attempt to name them all, but everyone working at the hotel is kind and professional, and go out of their way to be thoughtful to returning guests, which we appreciate more than words can say. Many people have been working at the hotel for a very long time, which speaks volumes in itself. We will return as soon as we can, and would recommend a stay in this marvellous hotel to anyone.

To old and to dirty feeling

Nice place in the city maybe to near dirty area , this hotel was beautiful , but today it’s really old , the rooms are old and feeling dirty even dirty , hope Sofitel will invest !!!! And make deep cleaning inside the room . Also hope they forbidden people to smoke inside the rooms !!!!!!! Breakfast very basic and not 5 stars food quality ! Pity was good !

4 am wake up call

Flew from S.F. for important meeting. Went to bed at 1 am, set my alarm for 9 am. Took a sleeping pill. 4 am the hotel calls me for a wake up call!!!! I wake up in total panic thinking must be an emergency. Nope, Armando from the front desk said another lady asked for a wake up call to my room and he didn’t verify any other information. Wasn’t able to get back to sleep. Totally wrecked for my meeting.

What a warm & welcoming hotel. From the moment we arrived in the early morning we were so warmly greeted. They offer an impressive breakfast buffet + full menu service. A friendly, efficient & professional service staff took good care of us that morning. Our room was very well appointed- an extremely comfortable bed- and a luxurious bathroom. Nice & quiet and a beautiful view of the courtyard below from our windows. The hotel is rich in history but what sets it apart are the wonderful, friendly staff and fabulous location.
