Excellent hotel, great position , near the railway station, buses and trams, loads of things in walking distance. Breakfast was really great as well, continental but got the day off to a great start . Room not huge but really comfortable, service super, highly recommended

Very good middle range hotel close to the station and in an area with plenty of good restaurants. Comfortable room, good breakfast with all the usual choices, near to travel hubs, and an easy walk down to the lake. A good base for a stay in Geneva.

Returning to Geneva after 9 years, I wanted to stay close to the railway station. Ibis hotels are no frills, well-run and clean, so I went for the Centre Lac. It was fine, with a very helpful receptionist, a compact but well-equipped room, good wi-fi, and a reasonable breakfast. It's located in the slightly sleazy Pacquis zone of the city, so there's lots of action on the streets nearby, but it's only a five minute walk to the waterfront for beautiful views across the lake towards the mountains. However, traveling in January meant that darkness had fallen when I checked in and it was still dark when I left early in the morning. La prochaine fois pour les vues panoramiques!

I’ll start with the positives and end with a negative. It’s really short and convenient to walk from Geneva Cornavin Station to this hotel, which is a typical Ibis—no surprises there. Overall, I was very pleased with the reception, housekeeping, and kitchen staff, the comfort of the room, and especially the breakfast, which offered both great taste and variety. At reception, I remember Daniel being particularly attentive to every customer. He spoke multiple languages, including English, Spanish, and French. The neighborhood is noisy, but I had no issues with sound because I kept the windows closed—thanks to the quality soundproofing, I assume. It’s neither the nicest nor the worst part of town; at no point did I feel unsafe. There are various food options nearby and in town, but for budget reasons, I opted for the Migros at the train station and made my own sandwiches instead of paying double-digit prices for a quick bite. If you're looking for better bars and pubs, the ones in the old town are a much better option within a 15- to 20-minute walk. Getting around is easy from the hotel—whether by foot or public transport—and as a tourist, you can use public transport free of charge during your stay. Geneva Tourism offers anyone staying in approved accommodation a free transport card. They emailed me a QR code prior to my arrival. I reckon your hotel can also assist you with that. I used the tram to Carouge and the train to the airport for free. Yellow shuttle boats also accept this QR code. The only downside was a managerial issue. I booked a flexible reservation through Accor’s website, which didn’t require prepayment. However, the hotel charged me the full amount shortly after I made the reservation. Another customer mentioned a similar complaint on Accor’s website, so it seems to be a recurring problem. The reception staff explained it was only a "pre-authorization," but I do know the difference, having managed a front desk for a decade. I didn’t escalate the issue, as my stay was otherwise pleasant, and I knew the responsibility lay with hotel management, not the receptionists. Lastly, keep in mind that the airport is just a five-minute train ride from Cornavin Station, which is useful if you're short on time.

Traveled with my wife (me to attend a conference and her to tour Geneve). The price point for the hotel is value for money. Small room with small shower cubicle but that is what Geneva has to offer I guess, if you are on a budget. Dimitri at the front desk was very kind and helpful. Breakfast has a nice assortment of breads, cakes, cheese, eggs, sausages, juices and a Franke coffee machine. The sound proofing is amazing! Once you close the door and window you could never hear a pin drop on the outside, or however the saying goes. Hotel is quite close to the Cornavin train station and walking distance to good sights like the Jet d'Eau. Close by are some Turkish, Italian, Ethiopian and Lebanese restaurants with affordable meals (by Geneva Standards) Only downside is you have to cross some shady part of town to get to the hotel...
