My children and I had a wonderful comfortable stay in a one bedroom apartment at Grand Mercure Ambassador Yongsan for 7 nights , 15th to 22nd April 2024. The apartment is spacious with full kitchen and washer/dryer, big nice bathroom, big living room with double sofa bed. It’s nice quiet and lots of sun light through full glass window (block out curtains installed as well) The gym and swimming pool and spa , yoga rooms were amazing. Member lounge was great as well. The location is fantastic just a short 5 minutes walk over the bridge connecting the hotel with Yongsan KTX station 🚉 and Yongsan Metro line 1 station which are in the same complex with Ipark 7 level shopping centre building where you can find many options for foods, restaurants, shopping and a big supermarket on level B1. It is very convenient to catch AirPort Express (Yongsan line 1 blue ) or intercity KTX to and from Yongsan or across the road to Sinyongsan metro station Line 4 to Myeongdong, Seoul… Hyochang stadium/park near by at corner of Cheongpa Ro 47 - Gil and Sunheonhwanggwibi- Gil, just about 20 minute walk from the hotel is a very lovely place to work out in the outdoor gym areas or play basketball 🏀 or just to enjoy a typical beautiful Korean style garden with lots of trees, flower and a creek and water lilies pond One of our best impressions and experience at the hotel was brought by David JANG a part time staff at the Concierge who greeted us at our late arrival at 9pm on the 15th April 2024. David JANG was fluent in English and was super helpful going out of his way to guide my 12 year old son to find Hyochang park so the little boy could play basketball 🏀 during our stay. David’s thoughtful, warm and kind gesture has helped to make us feel much at home at Grand Mercure Yongsan. Thank You 🙏🏻 . I also would like to thank the lady receptionist Ms JEAN JUNG who helped me checking in on my recent returning stay at 11.50pm Friday 7/6/2024 (R 2604). Jean was very lovely and thorough. I stayed at the Grand Mercure with my family in a two bedroom suite for 8 nights in April 2024. LOCATION: Fantastic location, connected to the Yongsan Train Station and Ipark Mall. Yongsan does not seem to be a popular location for tourists, but I believe this will soon change. Being able to walk every morning to a major subway and train station in Korea, centrally located no more than 1 transfer away from every major part of Seoul. The Ipark Mall has 4 different malls, including one 6 floor with just restaurants with every type of cuisine. ROOM: Spacious, clean, and modern room. Our room had a full kitchen with full size refrigerator and freezer, washing machine/dryer, dishwasher. All of these things came in handy with our 1 year old. Plenty of space for the family with the living room, kitchen, dining area, and two bedrooms and bathrooms. AMENITIES: Amazing gym/sauna/pool facilities in the hotel for guests to access. FOOD: Hotel lacks only in this category. But I believe because of it's close proximity to Ipark Mall, Yongsan Station, and restaurants in the building of Novotel and Ibis which are connected, there are plenty of great options to choose from. Thank you to all the staff of Grand Mercure that made our stay a great one. Next time I visit Seoul, there is no question where I will stay.

This is our second stay in the past year. The service is simply outstanding. It always feels like home. Our son was unwell and vomited at 10pm. Housekeeping wasn’t available then. A hotel staff, Ms Anne Ji, came knocking on our door, with tissue, wet wipes and a trash bag in hand. She clean the huge mess by hand with no gloves She wasn’t afraid to get dirty and cleaned up the room so throughly. This is a 5-star establishment and the service is a true reflection of it.

During our 12-day stay at this hotel, we informed the front desk that we were accompanied by a child and required a late check-out at 2 PM because our return flight to Tokyo was in the evening. However, despite having a silver membership status with Accor, we were told to check out at noon. It appears that being an Accor member does not provide any privileges or benefits here. While the membership does grant access to a late check-out option, the decision ultimately rests with the discretion of the reception staff on duty that day. The room is comfortable, but the walls do not block out noise well. We experienced disturbances from the room above us. It is not recommended to choose the Han-River view as the promoted river view is just a construction site. The air-conditioning did not cool the room properly, and even the maximum setting maintained the temperature at 23 degrees Celsius. We're not sure how the temperature is like during the summer. In term of service, there practical no service we experience this time. So we can't share much feedback on their service. Our decision to stay here primarily hinges on the location, which we consider to be crucial. We expected there to be a connecting bridge to Yongsan station like the Novotel and Ibis, but unfortunately, we were mistaken. To get to the station, we must traverse a lengthy walk of around 7-10 minutes. For the same rate, JW Marriot clearly provides a better value of money spent and service quality.

Please note that the connecting bridge connects Seoul Dragon City from the Novotel side only to Yongsan station. While we do not have a connecting bridge from every side of our complex, we strive to provide convenient access to transportation options and will explore ways to enhance accessibility for our guests.
