No matter how nice the hotel property, my experience is always defined by the staff and the service i received. The bellman, front desk staff, room service, and the concierge team are some of the best in hospitality. I spent a week at the Mondrian on my solo trip. Yuna from the concierge team called around for availability and helped me book beauty appointments that were all within the hotels vicinity. Even though most of i the communication was through email she would respond promptly and made my stay so much more relaxing and stress free. I also needed help placing an online order on a Korean e-commerce site that was very difficult to set up as a foreigner. I went down to the front desk for help and they went above and beyond to help me make an account and place the order. when my Order was delivered the next day, they even brought the packages up to my room. Each time I ordered room service, it was prepared quickly, and the staff was always so polite when delivering my meal. The hotel is extremely foreigner friendly because most of the staff is bilingual. I can’t say enough about the hospitality here. I’m very grateful I had chose to stay at this hotel.

Great overall stay (2 nights). We arrived at 10:30am and check in was meant to be at 3pm, but Robin kindly checked us in to an available room straight away. The room was nicely refurbished and very clean. The bed was firm and pleasant. The location of the hotel is not the greatest as it’s not got much directly around it but it is easy enough to walk or taxi to nearby places of interest. The gym was well equipped for a hotel gym with both a fairly effective strength section (machines, cables, power racks and multiple bench and incline bench press setups). Moreover, the pool/sauna/hot tub areas were very well maintained and clean.

Let me start by saying, great amenities. There’s a water filter in the room so you won’t need to worry about a finite supply of bottled water to be replenished. The gym is very well equipped especially against hotel gym standards - more closer to commercial gym standards. They do have a restaurant and bar within the restaurant but we didn’t use those facilities. Instead there’s a coffee shop on the ground floor and a convenience store across the road or even underneath the property if you need anything - and more restaurants and cafes. Location wise, it’s a bit of a trek to the train station but it’s a nice way to discover Itaewon - and taxis are plentiful anyway. Overall would definitely recommend this property to anyone visiting Seoul without worrying about the hustle and bustle around the property.

The hotel is marketed as a five-star property, yet there was no information provided regarding basic amenities such as toothbrushes or shaving kits—whether they could be requested or how to obtain them. Eventually, I had to buy these items from a minimarket. This was also the first hotel I have stayed at where taking any selfie photos in the gym is strictly forbidden. While I respect hotel policies, this feels outdated in an era where guests naturally share experiences on social media. The indoor pool rules were even more disappointing. I swam at 2:30 PM when there were absolutely no other guests present. I was swimming while casually speaking with my friend by the poolside and using the member lane. I was then abruptly warned by a life guard and told to move. Frankly, this felt unreasonable and unnecessary. I was a paying guest, not someone trespassing. With no one else using the pool, the reaction from staff felt overly rigid and unwelcoming. This is my first experience at an Accor hotel where the rules are applied in such a poor and unfriendly manner toward hotel guests. I genuinely felt unwelcome. Unfortunately, this experience ruined my mood and my day. I will not stay here again, nor will I recommend this hotel to others. That said, special thanks to Billy at the reception for his friendliness upon our arrival. However, explanations could be delivered more slowly, as they felt rushed and unclear.
