We chose the hotel following recommendations on websites and following our visit to the place. The location is very good, right next to the U-Bahn station, the area also has many bus lines. The environment is pleasant, not very "touristy". The hotel is aesthetic, and the rooms are nice and clean. Unfortunately the staff is not very helpful. Phones to reception were not answered. Things that were agreed with them, such as the location of the room and late check-out were not fulfilled, and they needed another "reminder". I suggest requesting that any offer they make or an agreement with them be in writing or by email.

Great location and facilities but poor service from some of the staff, esp. a man at the reception during night shift. When checking out, I was told very explicitly by a very kind lady that I could leave my luggage there, come pick it up at any time I wanted and stay there for as long as needed while waiting for my flight. However, this was not the case. While organizing our luggage before going to the airport, we were practically kicked out. The receptionist very rudely asked what time we would leave the lobby and told us to hurry and leave in 15min. In the evening, staff would say they were alone at the reception and refused to bring anything to the room, so we had to sleep with dirty sheets one night despite the signs in the bedroom telling us that the staff would happily bring what we needed at any time even things like toothbrushes and shaving kits. Finally, I have to report that there were large spider webs in the ceiling of the room.

The hotel's location is good, next to the metro station and Kadewe. The man who worked as a bartender was very nice and friendly.

Stayed here for three nights as a family. We had two rooms. The location is perfect, decor lovely and housekeeping does a great job. The standout for us was the buffet breakfast. This was run by Bobbie, who is the loveliest French man. Bobbie greets all guests with a kind welcome and a smile. Bobbie tries to accommodate all requests. We needed Gluten Free bread and each morning we would find waiting for us at ‘our table’ baskets of assorted warm gluten free bread. They were top quality, we had to ask several times if they were GF as they were so good. Bobbie also made omelettes to order and we all agreed, they were the best we have ever had and we order a lot of omelettes when we go out for breakfast. Bobbie kept the breakfast area clean, tidy and well stocked which is hard to do when it’s a buffet. The food variety was great and the food was of a very good quality. There were some extra items on the buffet that made it special and every side dish or condiment was thought of, you had everything you could possibly need to go with the dishes offered. Although celiac, we did not become unwell eating here, so extra care is taken with gluten free foods. Bobbie and his beautiful breakfast made our stay at this hotel extra special. I should also mention that Mohammad who also worked the breakfast, was very friendly and helpful. Both are assets to this hotel.

We stayed at Mercure Hotel Berlin Wittenbergplatz as a family for 4 days and had a fantastic experience. The hotel's location was perfect, with excellent access to public transportation and within walking distance to shopping centers. The reception was very welcoming; the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was exceptionally clean, with daily room cleaning service. Our room was also very quiet, allowing for a peaceful stay. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel.
