Disappointing MGallery Hotel

This hotel is fairly centrally located in Interlaken. Unfortunately, it is on a stretch of road where buses, cars and numerous motorbikes travel, often very noisily, throughout the day and early evening (there are other hotels along this same road where traffic is limited). We stayed in room 102; a Baroque styled room which was somewhat tired and in need of refurbishment. The bath tub was not operational (and when we inquired as to why it wasn't working we were told it was for decoration purposes only), the door to the bathroom did not shut properly, there was damage to the parquet in the room ... The room had a balcony, which although promised much gave limited views. The view towards the alps was very restricted because of the Hotel du Nord, the shops and trees opposite. The balcony was shared with other rooms, which meant that the door/windows could not be left open overnight allowing only a small amount of ventilation (the Baroque style rooms are without air-conditioning; a fan, however, was provided). Breakfast at the hotel was good, but evening, a la carte, meals were disappointing and to our minds overpriced. Restaurant staff were friendly. 25 swiss francs a day for parking and 20 swiss francs per day for a small dog. Overall, we would not recommend this hotel. We honestly query as to why this hotel is included in the MGallery collection; it does not have the ambience we usually look forward to.

Excellent stay over a busy holiday weekend

We were extremely happy with our stay at Royal St. George's. It was the Easter weekend during covid restrictions and staff carried themselves professionally and provided an excellent level of service, despite how full the hotel was and complications dealing with covid. Great service, lovely set dinner menu, great bar service, highly recommended. Thanks staff for a great weekend trip.

It is an excellent hotel. Perfect room service and nice staff. Administration gave us advice about the district and answered our questions. There was a very delicious food in the restaurant at the evening and on the breakfast was a great choice. Room were clean and new with amazing Mountain View. I recommend this hotel.

The team is so kind and helpfull , it is great to feel welcome any time . I recomend this Hotel , especially the bedrooms with Air condition are very large and with balcony on top . Only the Bar should get this direct link to the ice to the small garden .

I stayed with my family in St Georges during our Covid-19 summer holidays spent as a Swiss Tour. We enjoyed the hotel position, the kindness of the management, the room cleanness and the great offer at the breakfast. A very good place for families

awesome breakfast

staff was very nice. the only thing this hotel misses is a gym. I would have loved to just push some weights given that gyms are closed in my country. but in general when you go to a hotel you usually want to wake up and hit the gym before visiting attractions.

Wonderful Genuine Family Stay

Excellent and professional reception and welcoming. As Diamond holder we have been upgraded into Royal Suite that was very nice and spacious. Location is perfect and from there so many places to visit and activities to move on from a day to another. We'll for sure come back again in the future

Hotel Beat all expectations, lovely touch was the birthday rose and greeting card from the hotel The staff where very friendly and efficient. On departure they took us to Interlaken Ost railway station with out asking. Will defiantly visit again.

Creaking and zero sound proof hotel

I can hear every foot step of upper floor people. Floor is very worned out and it creaks on my every single foot step. Room is warm enough but bathroom is so cold especially during shower time. Breakfast menu is simple and staffs are friendly and helpful.

Staff were excellent. Large room. Old hotel with that comes older style furnishings. Bath had a bit of mould around the bathtub. Cannot fault the staff or service. The food was also good with a good range.

Receptionists were extremely helpful, concierge was beyond excellent, they far exceeded my expectations. Room was clean and location was central. I will definitely stay again although I live not too far in Zurich

The family room was separate from the main building, like a makeshift container. The room was not made up until 430pm stating low staff. Breakfast was poor too. I will not recommend anyone to stay here.

Great location for a new country stay

Absolutely wonderful and very "plush". We were thankful after a long trip from Paris to be upgraded to the corner suite on level 3. The room was grand as was the 3 balconies with fabulous views of all of Interlaken Ost. For a three nights stay with two rooms booked (2 adults one room, mum dad and teenage boy the upgraded one) our entire family loved the breakfast. The staff were GREAT and allowed us to enjoy our experiences in a country not yet visited so far that we are thankful for. Also pleasing to see the upgrades being completed over the coming months in regards to aircon and double glazzing (under way whilst we were there). PS The bathroom was awesome as it made us feel like we came to an era that showed grandeur and class as every family should on a holiday in Interlaken. Thin walls though and others TV are loud to all.

Old World Elegance

Located right in town, with views of parasailers from our balcony this hotel was a touch of days gone by. High ceilings, a huge bathroom with blue & white fixtures, and big windows were all enjoyed. No AC made the room a bit stuffy, so it was good not to be there in the height of summer. The staff was helpful and quick to respond to email inquiries --- all very professional. The breakfast buffet was delicious. Parking was expensive like all major cities, so no surprise, but being on-site was convenient.

Great place to stay! It is a short walk from Interlaken Ost station to the hotel. The staff is very welcoming with a warm greeting by name each day. The restaurant provides a fabulous breakfast as well as an extensive dinner menu.

Good service but poor room

The lobby was elegant and the service was good. The location was excellant which was closed to the train station. However when i was disappointed when i arrived the hotel. the roon was totally different with the photo they showed on the web site.

The hotel was nice, the staff were lovely, the wonderful girl at the front desk could not have been sweeter but I have forgotten her name, truly a gem! Our biggest complaint however, the beds were terrible, hard as a board and the linens were just so so. With staff like this, a little update on the hotel and this would be a gem.

It’s often I can say that a hotel stay has been perfect, but the Royal St George definitely deserves the accolade. From the warm welcome, information given, beautifully appointed room, the little touches like a welcome note in the room signed by the manager, we felt that it mattered to the staff that we enjoyed our stay.The dining room was excellent, dinner with a good variety of choices of local cuisine, delightful waiting staff, breakfast was very varied, well displayed, delicious and ooh the tea selection had us ditching our coffee for the wonderful choice of teas. (Panic not we finished off with cappuccino and lattes so we got our caffeine fix before hitting the mountains!) The welcome didn’t end as we checked out either, as often happens, we were made to feel honoured guests and welcomed to return.

We didn't get the room reserved, but got a discount and extra points as compensation.The staff was very helpful and welcoming.At the modern spa the 2 jacuzzis were not operating.Staff at bar and restaurant (Gabriela) was marvelous

Really nice room with 3 balconies. Only improvement required was to modernise the otherwise lovely bathroom with a fixed overhead showerhead (ilo only a handheld showerhead) and have brighter lights .
