Worse than Faulty Towers

Traveled to Brazil to visit family. I’ve stayed here back in 2006 just after it was opened. It was lovely. This time in 2022 April I would give it a miss. The staff were rude particularly the guy with grey hair and tattoos on his arm at reception. I first got to the room and was surprised and how dirty the whole place was. Stains on the carpet smears on the walls and when I got to my room, holes in my sheets. I then went downstairs and politely asked to be upgraded at my expense. The next room was a suite with a beautiful corner room view. Unfortunately the air conditioning did not work. The next day I asked for assistance to look at it, I was told it worked. I said I was cooler in the hallway than it was in my suite. They would not provide any help. I even had my brother who spoke Portuguese sort the issue as they didn’t seem interested. This resulted in the embarrassing task of relocating to 3 different rooms and then downgrading because there was no working air conditioning in many of the rooms despite the hotel saying it worked. To mention the other issues: I was double charged for my prepaid stay on the way out. Our rooms weren’t cleaned daIly. The buffet was not to standard Although is has a great location, try the Mercure one block back… this is not an Accor hotel. It’s not up to standard.. Dirty, rude staff, bad air conditioning, unclean.

The hotel is good. We had to ask them to fix a few things in our room. But other than that, good hotel. SantaFe restaurant isn’t really good. The food seems like it was heated up on a microwave. And the breakfast cereals are old and mushy. The staff is very good though, throughout the hotel.

Nice Hotel , can be much better

I stayed here for business for 3 days. The rooms very clean and the check in / check out process was smooth. The breakfast was good. I liked the area and the proximity to a huge mall and restaurants in the mall . One of the nights there was lot of noise/banging on the floor happening in the floor directly above , I called the front desk for help , the front desk said they are going to call the security , it stopped for a while and then it started again , I called them again , I got the same answer , this went on till about 1:00 AM and then again started at 6:00 AM the next day. I asked the front desk at checkout what was going on and they said they did not know anything . Being jet lagged and not getting enough sleep is not a good experience. Will not go back to this hotel.

I am always satisfied during my stay here! The hotel and restaurant staff are so friendly and professional! Patricia, Vivian and Mylena are wonderful! And Carlos has such a great smile and always makes everyone feel so welcome! The rooms and beds are so comfortable, they have a great fitness center and pool, the Santa Fe restaurant consistently has very good food and excellent service! The young lady who makes the omelets in the morning also has a wonderful smile and makes the best omelets ever! I love staying at this hotel!! I highly recommend this hotel for anyone staying in Belo Horizonte!

Great Location for Business

My preferred hotel in Belo Horizonte, staff are great, rooms are huge with comfy beds & a good shower. Breakfast has a great selection & a chef on hand for additional items. The hotel is located in a nice area, less than an hour from the airport and across from a busy shopping centre with a wide range of shops & restaurants (Madero is best). All around a great hotel when visiting Belo!
