Checked in around 5.30pm. No real recognition of status (platinum) upon arrival. No welcome amenity or drink or upgrade. Room had a bug infestation, called reception. They sent a cleaner with bug spray. In a room with no windows. I grabbed my bag when back to reception asked for a new room. They didn’t seem pleased to do that but did. New room given. I also mentioned no welcome amenity. New room not great. Bad layout, noisy (near lifts) and inaccessible power points. QR code for room service didn’t work correctly. Eventually front office brought a warm bottle of wine to the door, handed it to me and walked off. Disturbed sleep due to noise and left to check out. Was asked how my stay was and told the lovely receptionist everything. She apologised and offered a 50% discount, I said no as this is the latest in a series of disappointing stays at a hotel I am a semi regular at, and how I can’t see myself staying here again. 2 days later go an invoice charging me for a still water from the fridge. I protested and - once again - outlined the issues. As an apology was offered the refund and 50% off my next stay. Again refused the 50% and eventually was credited with some additional reward points. A once excellent hotel that is now disappearing down the plug hole of mediocrity. And if they treat long standing guests and reasonably high tier members like this, then what chance the general public?

Enjoyed a four night stay at the Como. It was an excellent location for restaurants, cafes and all transport. The hotel was so beautifully presented. The room was so clean and spacious. The staff were very professional and pleasant to speak with. Would definitely stay there again.

I always love staying at the Como, a wonderful hotel and the staff are truely wonderful. However we stayed in 314 (which we have also done for previous visits) and it is starting to show its age.
