Overall, we had a really enjoyable stay at Pullman Port Douglas. The resort has a beautiful tropical feel, the grounds and pool area are lovely, and the staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, although some areas of the resort are starting to look a little dated and could benefit from a refresh and some general maintenance. The buffet breakfast was also a little disappointing compared with other Accor hotels we’ve stayed at. The selection and overall quality could be improved, particularly for a resort of this standard. That said, we still had a great stay overall and really enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere and location. With a few updates and improvements to the breakfast offering, this could be an even better resort experience.

exemplary care & attention from intelligent staff. Medical incidents & flight disruption caused our plans to change more than once. Rhythm was superb in adjusting bookings to maximise our time & comfort with you. Housekeeping staff did a great job in maintaining order amongst grandkids chaos. Breakfasts were wonderful, only slightly marred by a staff member on one day saying we were limited to one (included) coffee each. Many resorts ration/monitor pool towel usage, and it was much appreciated (& respected) that towel availability was relaxed.

The resort's outside areas have an impressive tropical vibe and epic 3000 square metre lagoon pool, but it's showing it's age. The Room was clean and spartan, however well overdue for an upgrade with signs of wear and tear such as chipped and cracked cabinets. The TV was a 15-year-old 32" with a grainy picture. The breakfast was OK, but well below par for a 5 Star resort. No egg-cooking station - just an omelette of the day or fried eggs available to order. A very basic hot selection as you would get in a 3 Star hotel. There was some fruit, but for a hotel located in the tropics, it's unforgivable that much of the fruit is from a tin. There were a few interesting juices, but infrequently replenished. The stand-out was the Barista Coffee that was very good. The service was a mixed affair with some of the transient staff enthusiastic and others clearly having a bad day(s). As an Accor+ Gold Explorer we usually receive our full compliment of benefits. In this case that was lacking - in particular no room upgrade when the hotel was obviously not full. One of our welcome drinks was charge to our room, which we managed to have credited once pointed out at check-out.
