Lovely stay in the resort from checking in with Sophia, breakfast with Martina and the rest of the team. The pool was great with the kids and they enjoyed the buffet each day. The hotel is a good jumping off point for day trips to the reef, Daintree and Mossman and a chance to relax after and in between.

our apartment was not cleaned/made up for two days. I had to approach reception for it to be done. Unable to use BBQ and the fridge leaked water on to the floor Not satisfactory

* Parking out the front should be available in front of the pillars when checking-in, but not possible because of all the golf carts. Entry is unclear and reception staff weren't helpful when we were concerned that we were blocking a bus. * Advised to take any garage that said "Pullman" instead of the one labelled for our room. Not happy with that system as it meant we had to keep parking in different places, often some distance from our room and adding the challenge to remember exactly where each time. Didn't seem to be any logic for this arrangement. * TVs not working properly with remotes. On the first night, couldn't turn TVs off and had to pull powerpoint of the wall in the bedroom as there was powerpoint switch. Luckily my husband is tall and could reach it that high. Was advised to swap remotes between bedrooms, but one of them still didn't work. For a 5 start resort, the TVs should be proper working smart TVs. * Toaster shorted the power when used * No information provided about activities that were going on * Dishwasher not working properly and shelf broken * Shower head was broken, but was fixed quickly when we advised the next morning * No smart TV and no advice provided about accessing Netflix etc using other device until we asked the next day. Device was not user friendly and during a movie, it appeared to be connecting with someone else's room and we couldn't control it. * Couldn't turn dryer off and it continued to spin when with the door open * Bathroom exhaust fans don’t work * Kitchen not properly stocked for general cooking and no oven gloves provided * Scooters to hire were flat every day.

My wife and I had a very enjoyable stay at the Pullman Resort Port Douglas. While it sits toward the lower end of the five-star category, the overall experience was still very positive. The resort features a fantastic pool, a great location, and our room was comfortable and well presented, making for a relaxing and pleasant stay.

We loved the resort but our room had a stench of mould and was visible on the walls and airconditioning. We were offered another room but it was a downgrade on the plunge pool apartment with dated furniture and our sons would have made no use of the rooftop spa vs plunge pool. The condition did improve somewhat when we turned the air conditioner off and left the windows and doors completely open but we could not use the air conditioner at all. The problem is the mould has infiltrated all the furniture and fixings in the apartment. It was very dissapointing to read other reviews when I got home also complaining about mould smell over 1 year ago which obviously has not been addressed. This is the most dissapointing part that it is not being addressed. I can understand musty smells in the tropics but this was next level and is also a health hazard. This room should not be rented out in my opinion (room 154) I note that staff did admit there is a problem with these rooms on the golf course side of the resort which makes me wonder why it is not a priority if you already know about the issue. I asked if next time we could choose a specific room but was told no when I checked out. For this reason I will unlikey stay again which is a shame as the resort is great (pool is fantastic , breakfast/restaurant was amazing/ staff at the bar and in the restaurant were amazing and friendly). I would like to note one day I called reception as we had not had toilet paper replenished the previous day and were down to the last roll. They did not come straight away and we had to wait until House keeping cleaned the room. I am an Accor member but booked through Qantas. If it wasnt for the room I would have given an 8 or 9. I will be informing Qantas of our experience.
