Stayed during a time with heavy wind. None of the windows in my room were air tight so the curtains were moving all night. The rubber seal on the window in the room next to mine is hanging down and banged every time the wind blew. Room was clean but very dated staff were brilliant.

Megan and the other receptionists couldn't have helped more in assisting us when I arrived. Clear guidance on what I was to do: one-way access through the hotel, and how our breakfast was to be delivered. Great, huge, comfortable bed for a 6'4" guy, and I was fortunate enough to see a fabulous sunset on the first night of the stay. Despite these trying times, the staff made the stay enjoyable.

I have stayed at the Ayr Mercure a few times now. Very efficient service from checking in to checking out. Food this time due to Covid restrictions was room service only, and was delivered on time and food was good.

Glad to have somewhere to stay for an essential trip. Sadly breakfast was forgotten on day 2 and it was very loud through the night. Walls were very thin....

Whilst it is appreciated Covid-19 has made matters more difficult than ever; I have been travelling throughout required for essential business purposes and on occasion have needed accommodation. I totally understand that the restaurant may well be closed; however, I called 24 hours ahead to check and to be advised room service would be available so that I did not have to bring anything myself or pick something up on route to the hotel. On check in I was advised that this was not the case and the person I had spoken to should not have advised that the hotel would offer room service, which felt a little misleading. Whilst the room was clean and comfortable, the heating was not so with the room particularly cold for the stay; however, this can be forgiven, circumstances are not normal and the hotel are no doubt keeping costs reduced with only a limited number of guests occupying the hotel presently. However, what cannot be forgiven is being asleep at past midnight (between 12am and 1am) when somebody from the hotel enters your room in the middle of the night to what I was subsequently advised to be "possibly the night porter flushing the water in the system and they may have got the wrong room". No actual apology then or in the morning - a disconcerting experience in the middle of the night being woken with a startling surprise at someone entering your room. Unlikely to stay again and disappointed in a hotel group such as Mercure, this was unexpected.

I had a family room for single use which was large, comfortable and clean. I had a slight problem in that there was no desk lamp making it very dark in the corner but this was very quickly sorted out by the friendly staff. COVID guidelines are very good and I felt comfortable and safe. Would definitely stay at this hotel again.

I stayed for one night during Covid 19 restrictions which obviously made the stay a different experience, I am sure to a normal stay. Staff were very friendly and polite. Paid for Bed and Breakfast and was given a horrendous Breakfast Bag rather than a cooked breakfast as restaurant / bar was completely closed unbeknown to me when booking. Requested an extended check out which was given, free of charge. Hotel needs refurbishment as is very dated..

Dissapoiting Stay

Obviously very strange travelling throughout COVId restrictions however I do understand this will feel very different. Left towels outside door to be replenished as housekeeping wasn’t being done due to Covid, the towels l were taken but not replenished, only half a toilet roll for duration if stay which run out. Very poor TV signal, genuinely one of the worst stays I have had. Certainly wouldn’t book again, actually checked out two days early.

WiFi was spotty and slow. Needed it for work. I know COVID is going on but felt estranged when coming into the lobby by the staff; that we were a nuisance to them. I was in a group of 6. My group all knows and works with each other and we had asked if we could meet in the restaurant (sit separately as required of course) but we were not allowed to. Seems silly
