The hotel is clearly dated and in need of some TLC. However, we found the staff to be very pleasant and helpful. The rooms were clean, and we had no issue with noise. The breakfast was excellent, great value for money and food was fresh and hot. Again, breakfast staff were excellent and very helpful. Gluten free options available. There was evidence of foreign people living in the hotel, yeah some did look unkempt and maybe if I was a sole female travelling on my own then I wouldn't have liked it. We had no trouble from them. If it's just a bed to stay overnight then it's great value for money. We stayed 3 nights to go christmas shopping, which was ideal. We have stayed at other hotels within the area, but this was definitely more value for money 👍

After two previous visits in the last 3 months which were enjoyable with staff going the extra mile (birthday visits and anniversary visit), this visit was not enjoyable at all. We booked for the two evenings Dec 1 & 2, and arrived around 6:45 on the Friday 1st and thankfully we had stopped en-route for something to eat as when we arrived we were told the restaurant was full for the night. It got worse on the Saturday night as when we went to the restaurant for dinner we were met with disappointment as the restaurant was closed for a private function and this included the bar and TV area. My wife and I were re-located to a side room with other guests to eat. The temperature in this room was very cold, and although the staff moved the one large blow heater in our direction with then caused issues for other guests. We duly ordered food and when this arrived my wife's pasta dish was stone cold and was duly returned. Five minutes later the dish was brought back only to find the kitchen has simply put cheese on the top and put it under the grill for a few minutes. This was duly refused as tit was still stone cold at the bottom of the dish and we said not to bother bringing it back. But bringing it back they did AFTER I had finished the meal I ordered and shared with my wife. I must admit I did have a chuckle at the receipt when it came, as it had a 10% service charge added automatically without checking with me first - so I actually tipped for bad service! I stay at hotels on a regular basis both in the UK and Eire and I can honestly say I have NEVER come across a situation whereby a paying hotel guest cannot access the bar, TV or dinging room areas in the manner we endured on Sat night.

Enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Staff very pleasant and friendly. Room was clean , warm and had everything we wanted including walk in shower and fridge. Breakfast good and very good cold buffet selection.

On check in we were left waiting, then got a very disgruntled man who should go on a customer service training course. His colleague was ok. No directions no information giving. Good job we have stayed before.
