Other hotel guests smoking cannabis on landings and openly using drugs, loud obnoxious room users keeping us awake all night and then MERCURE had the audacity and without authorisation or prior knowledge to remove £100 from my account for smoking! It was incense sticks! Still awaiting refund from them. As a company we spend thousands a year and to be treat like this was disgraceful,,avoid BRADFORD MERCURE at all costs.

At Mercure Bradford Bankfield Hotel, we pride ourselves on providing a high level of service and strive to make sure our guests have a wonderful stay. We recognize the importance of our guests satisfaction and take all feedback seriously, You had stated to the Hotel when you called, that you and you're wife were smokers and the stench in the bedroom was probably from your clothes, however in your written complaint it is now Incense sticks which is again a health & Safety issue and could have resulted in a full on evacuation of the hotel as the smoke could have triggered the fire alarm system, that's why there's a no smoking notice on the door and thought-out the hotel. The level of stench from cigarette smoke was so intense and awful we had to place a Humidifier in the room to help clear the awful smell, we couldn't sell that room for 4 days, resulting in the hotel losing revenue, the hotel has a clear no smoking policy in the bedrooms to ensure complete safety for all guest. it clearly states on the Door no smoking, as a matter of fact it is illegal to smoke or have any items that gives off a Vanishing Mist effect in hotel bedrooms. smithybrow Solo travel - TripAdvisor review

I have stayed ta this hotel on a previous occasion when I had a room In the newer part however, this time I was in the older part- oh dear me!! Paint peeling off windows, chipped window ledges, damaged chair, ancient bathroom and non working radiator. ( there was an oil filled plug in radiator but the room was so small that it took up valuable space) no lift close by - up the main stairs then up some more stairs which made life difficult. Re emotion and bar staff very very friendly and welcoming. This was a stopover and was cheaper than the nearby Ibis on this occasion which I much prefer.

Hi I stayed at your hotel on the 18th-19th April in room 122. I booked the room through booking.com The room was shocking I can’t believe I paid £60 for such a terrible experience. The chair had damage. The TV was outdated and had no Netflix or apps. Went to the toilet and the toilet had some sort of blockage that when we flushed the water was coming up and stayed like that it looked absolutely disgusting. The sink had cracks and wasn’t even white anymore mould around the taps. There was no body wash it was an empty bottle in the bathroom. The bath it self looked extremely manky. When the wind blew outside lots of whistling noise which was disturbing our sleep that I ended up checking out and having to ask a relative if it was okay to sleep on their sofa ? How is that fair ? I would like a refund.

Hotel is very tired now, needs a make over badly. Rooms clean but need redecorating, no tissues in room and no breakfast tea just green and asam. Breakfast, no poached eggs...only scrambled and fried - assume chef not there and no brown bread, so a disappointing start to the day as I asked for 2 poached eggs on brown toast. All reflected in the price I suppose
