Natalie was amazing

Hired a conference room for a 3 day event. All of the staff were friendly with the drinks constantly being filled up,but Natalie on the front desk was amazing. Nothing was to much trouble for her. Thanks Natalie, you're a star. We will be returning.

Extremely disappointed with our stay

This is probably the 5th or 6th time we’ve stayed with the hotel; every year for badminton horse trails. We’ve always been very satisfied with everything from start to finish. This time was unfortunately the complete opposite, we were a group of 2 couples and a had a room each. 1 room was outside the hotel and looked very much like staff accommodation turned into accommodation for paying customers for the weekend; it was filthy, damp, broken furnishings and smelt of smoke, we have pictures of all mentioned. The second room was in a part of the hotel we haven’t stayed in before, felt extremely old and dated compared to parts of the hotel we have stayed in. Again, broken furnishings, unfinished paint work, stains on the carpet, wall paper pealing! Considering we paid £160 per night per room we were absolutely gutted with our experience. We will await to hear from the hotel as to what they are going to do to rectify our confidence in the hotel.

Disastrous

We paid for 2 night’s accommodation. We were placed in a “stable” with furnishings which were extremely outdated. The bed was comfortable but that’s where it ended. The toilet wouldn’t flush and after explaining to reception the next morning, we were told it would be repaired during the day. Upon our return later in the day, the situation was still the same. Some of the power points did not work. Considering we paid a price that was equivalent to at least 4 stars, we were extremely disappointed. We had booked our room for 2 nights, however we decided to relocate to another hotel rather than stay at the Mercure. We lost money on the 2nd days accommodation but were relieved to be anywhere but the Mercure.

Nothing wonderful here

I should have looked at the fairly even split across the star ratings to see that this was probably not going to be the best stay. £125 for room only. The room was absolutely nothing like the pictures advertised in the website and our room looked like dark, dingy, sad staff accommodation. Dated, shabby and with thin pale cheap furniture from many years gone by possibly picked up from an old motel that had closed down. The bathroom needs gutting and the ill fitting old Lino and shower curtain replaced.A hotel only needs to make sure that its bedrooms are worth the money. Sadly, this room was not and I’d be happy to receive a refund for a wrongly described and sold room. If I’d paid £50 then fair enough, but this room no where near warrants the £125 price tag.

Pleasant stay. Car park needs severe repair. Likely to cause damage to cars even at a slow speed Wall socket hanging off in service area
