Stayed at the hotel for a night to meet with friends. We had a dinner in one of the pods. Food was delicious and the service was excellent. Room was comfortable and clean. I will definitely stay at this hotel again and would recommend it for nice relaxing weekend.

Lakeside pod dining

I booked one of the lakeside pods for my husband’s 50 th birthday for 8 of us. The food, service and atmosphere were brilliant and we couldn’t fault anything. We were also able to bring our dog and stayed with him overnight which was great as we cannot leave him with anyone. We were so impressed I have booked again for December for a family meal before Christmas.

We always stay here when travelling to/from Plymouth. Very pet friendly, rooms very comfortable and both breakfast and evening meal options very good. The staff are always very friendly, welcoming and professional. Good car parking on site.

We celebrated our anniversary at the Bowden Hotel and it couldn’t have been more perfect! The dining experience was exceptional, especially with the outside pods by the lake. The setting felt both private and luxurious, with stunning lake views that added a special touch to the evening. The food was amazing—each dish tasted fresh and beautifully presented. The staff was attentive and welcoming, making us feel right at home. If you’re looking for a unique, romantic dining experience, especially for a special occasion, I highly recommend trying the outdoor pods at Bowden Hotel. We’ll definitely be back!

Booked this venue for the renewal of our wedding vows followed by afternoon tea. We were well looked after by Victoria and Chelsea who provided excellent communication throughout the planning process and ensured we could have anything we wanted for food, music and decorations. We were able to choose our own sandwich fillings and cakes and special attention was given to the children who had pizza followed by chocolate brownie and ice cream. A big thank you also to Rachel for her brilliant organisation and help making things go smoothly on the day. All our guests expressed what a wonderful atmosphere and experience it was.
