Kingfisher Bay is a beautiful resort. We found it very relaxing and we enjoyed the natural environment. There was an excellent variety of food and the portions were more than adequate. Our room with a secluded patio was perfect for reading and relaxing.

Excellent facilities and service at Kingfisher Bay Resort. We did the Whale Watching and Beauty Spots tours. Combined with a couple of long sunset walks on the beach, we felt we had got a good feel for the island in 3 days. Tour operators could be more punctual, we waited 15-20 minutes each time.

On our recent trip to Fraser island we stayed 5 nights in a well appointed three bedroom villa at Kingfisher Bay. One of the highlights of our stay (among many) was a discovery walk along the beach at low tide with Ranger Tim. He is a wealth of knowledge, passionate about what he does, friendly and personable. We also did a discovery night walk with Ranger Tim which was just as good with his knowledge and enthusiasm. Even as we were leaving the Island to get on the barge I saw Ranger Tim and had some more questions which he happily answered for me. All staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. We had a few meals at the Sand and wood restaurant which was very nice and can highly recommend the yummy Pana Cotta! Sunsets on the beach also a highlight. Not to mention seeing Whales on our while watching half day trip!

Right from the start of booking in to the resort, has proven problematic. It took 1.5 hours to get our luggage, for which we had to ring to enquire why we didn’t have it. Maintenance was been undertaken on our villa by plumbing , which the work men were requiring access to the room. My privacy and alone time we’re being compromised . When booking into various activities on the island -they were all booked up or only had one space left. As a couple we had no actives with any vacancies. So we were forced to only do the free walks and free tennis. I was able to get one booking for a single facial but this was cancelled by reception 1 hour prior. due to staff being sick. Our villa then had grossly discoloured water issues at 8 pm and so we were packed up and sent to another villa. We had a booking made for us by reception for the main restaurant for 6pm. When turning up, they informed there was no booking and turned away. No compensation was offered only directed to the other restaurant down the road. On another occasion we were sent to the restaurant down by the pier and it was closed! Communication , service, and general management of the facility is grossly inadequate. On the plus side the staff were very friendly and helpful. We will not be returning to this resort for another holiday.

We do strongly recommend booking activities and dinner reservations in advance and this opportunity was presented to you in this call. Our confirmation documents do also advise to make bookings prior to arrival for dinner reservations and activities to avoid disappointment. It is regrettable that the Day Spa experience was cancelled due to the therapist being unwell. We hope you can understand that under this circumstance the treatment could not proceed. We do appreciate that your concerns were raised with us during your stay and were given the opportunity to resolve. Our team made every effort to assist in rectifying issues accordingly, including sending Maintenance to attend, and offering to relocate you, to which you accepted. It is disappointing that to receive a 1-star review despite our teams efforts and you acknowledging that our staff were friendly and helpful.
