The room was lovely with a great outlook, however we were left feeling on edge whenever we used the bathroom or kettle. We unintentionally set the fire alarm off straightening my daughter's hair. There was no steam or smoke. The fact that the Mantra includes a disclaimer that guests will pay the fire brigade call out fee and has signs up stating "wait until all the steam clears before leaving the bathroom" is ridiculous! Your fire alarms are TOO sensitive and the fact that they are silent in the rooms is against Queensland legislation. I found it stressful waiting for my daughter to have a shower and she felt as if she could not leave the bathroom after showering. This is unacceptable. Given the bathroom that was been used for the hair straightening also had a dryer in it (and a extremally small window but no exhaust), I can only assume that would also trigger your fire alarms had we used it. Our relaxing weekend away, ended up quite stressful whenever someone used the bathroom or the kettle.
