The room was very nice. We were upgraded to a suite. Which was a lovely surprise. Both receptionist were fantastically polite, professional and friendly and set the tone for the visit.

Bathroom is very outdated and shower & bath takes a long time to heat up . After you do the trick shown by the maintenance man by running cold water through the bath tap to try force out hot water out of the shower. It will eventually get warm after a good 5 minutes . The bathroom sink need changing as the tap is a nightmare to work and can’t even fit your hands under the tap as it’s that close to the base. Parking isn’t the best for larger vehicles . The room fans are left on so the Motors are over worked and need servicing as it sounds like a jumbo jet starting up. Was sold a king room but was given 2 single beds pushed together. Upon entering the hotel the front of house was blunt and not very welcoming. his first words weren’t hello how is your day and he just said you got a booking. A simple welcome would of been more inviting. Felt like a premier inn just less cleaner.

I understand the issue with the hot water has since been resolved but will ensure the AC is looked into immediately. I apologies for any inconvenience caused. Great location, rooms needs to be refurbished, lights are very dim, especially in the bathroom. The mattress is not very uncomfortable, too soft and can feel some of the springs. I knew that the refurbishment was delayed, will stay again but only when it's fully refurbished. Breakfast was fairly poor for a Mercure hotel.

Well located with friendly, helpful staff. I have stayed here before a couple of times and previously had no issues. On this occasion my room was poorly cleaned. One of the bedside tables had something spilt on it that had been left to go sticky, whilst the other bedside table was thick with dust. The carpet has not been hoovered and had a trail of broken biscuits from a previous guest. Whilst I totally understand the demands of the current time and the staffing challenges the hospitality industry is facing it was disappointing to see standards slipping. I am booked to stay again next month but having second thoughts.

Loved it, staff very helpful. Only issue is something the hotel can’t really control and that’s the noise from people coming out of pubs at 2am‍♀️

Stayed for 2 nights pre-Christmas. Room a good size, clean and with a comfy bed. Reception staff very helpful at check in. Also really helpful on the phone beforehand with very clear instructions for parking. Great breakfast both mornings.

A reasonable satisfying experience but with a couple of annoying niggles. The first one was the lack of sound proofing in our King Privilege room. We were woken on more than one occasion by noise coming from outside. Whilst I appreciate you cannot control external noise you can ensure a top rated sound proofing system. The other one was the room where the breakfast was served. I was told that the normal room wasn’t available that morning, if it was the one on your website it looks very cosy, but instead it was served in some kind of meeting room with all of its lack of charm and atmosphere. A disappointing end to what should have been a nice birthday treat for my partner.

We ordered a more than fairly priced room for one night after previously staying before. We are yet to wake up early enough to enjoy the breakfast as the beds are so comfy and the room so lovely! We were treated with respect and had all of our needs met accompanied with lovely beverages from the bar attached to the hotel. Overall we had a lovely experience and will be staying again, it’s both a great place and we’ll located being in the town centre. Thankyou for your amazing hospitality.

The hotel itself is very nice , the thing that lets it down is the pub that is very close to it. We went on a Thursday and was kept awake till 4 in the morning with the music and people. On that alone I would not stay here again which is a shame. Breakfast was very nice and the staff are very helpful

Only there for one night as in Nottingham to see concert but would stay again. Only downside is getting to car park with this city's traffic system.

I booked the suit and expected a lot more space but this was not the case the lounge area was really small and when you walk in the sofa bed was already open and was well to wall. The room decor was nice and bath room was lovely loads of space but disappointed with lounge area. As this was the reason we booked this room so we could chill in this area. The staff on site was lovely idea location for city centre.

This is the case when the room is booked for 3 or more people. We always recommend when booking for more than 2 people to book separate rooms should space be of a high priority. For single occupancy rooms our smaller City Pads are most ideal or even our Standard King rooms for more space. Friendly reception and a large apparently newly decorated and renovated room. Breakfast was excellent and all for less than £80. And Parking was subsidised. Worse thing was the one way system to get to the car park and then getting luggage to the hotel - but only 5 mins walk

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Mercure. Very friendly staff. Location was great and we will definitely come back. We hope to be back and do a lot more as we did not realise so much history. Every body we spoke to were happy to tell us where to go and what to see. Thank you.
