Located right in the city centre, very close to a tram stop and the hustle and bustle of hockley! The room was a little dark and dingy, dusty and just in general need of a revamp. It was almost impossible to get into the wardrobe due to it being pushed up against the bed! It was a very hot summers day and the air-conditioning wasn't working - luckily the lovely man on the desk was able to help and even brought a fan up just incase we needed that too. The bathroom was clean albeit small and the flush on the toilet was very temperamental requiring a maintenance person to come and fix it. Overall, the service was good but it was way over priced for the quality of the room - we paid around £250 for two nights with late check out but I feel the room should have been closer to £60/night. I have definitely stayed in much nicer places for much less!

Awful! Rude staff! Worse hotel ever

Dear Bellamy D., Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at the Mercure Nottingham City Centre George Hotel. I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations; please allow me to express my sincerest apologies. At Mercure, we strive to provide a superior service experience for every customer; therefore your feedback is very important to us. Please rest assured that we are taking the appropriate measures to address the problem and prevent future occurrence. May I apologise for the delay in getting you checked in. I am sincerely very sorry for this and apologise for any inconvenience or disappointment caused to you. Unfortunately that day we had 6 people from the housekeeping team call in sick. This impacted the department and we did our best to get rooms back as soon as possible. Regarding the room size, our City Pad rooms are our entry level room grade and are indeed small. Unfortunately on that day, we were fully booked on the bigger rooms and we couldn't offer you an upgrade.
