Booked the king suite in the Nottingham City centre location for two nights for my birthday. We booked directly, which made the price more than fair value. The room was lovely: clean, comfortable, and quirky in a way that we both absolutely adored. We especially liked having the bath in the suite to come back to after a lot of walking around the city. The building is beautiful, and really made the whole stay feels special. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, and I thought the location was excellent. Everything we wanted to visit was in easy walking distance, and it was easy to come back to the room to drop things off or just have a quiet sit down for 5 minutes. Will definitely be staying again

We were kindly upgraded when we checked in, I’m not sure why but we were grateful! But the room didn’t feel like an upgrade at all. We paid £98 for the night and the walls were really scuffed. The room didn’t have a mini fridge which was a shame as we had complimentary water in our room, but wasn’t cold enough to drink. The creaking of people walking around (room 206, right by the stairs) was horrific, and will be the reason we probably won’t stay again. Which is a shame as it’s located perfectly for the arena! Staff were nice, maybe state on an email or before booking that you need your PIN number for your card to pay. I solely use contactless now, as for Apple Pay it’s connected to your bank so doesn’t need a pin and has no limit, so I no longer know my PIN number. Luckily my partner could use his card, but it was a bit of an inconvenience, my fault for not knowing my PIN though!

Not all rooms come with mini fridges, these can be found in our larger Privilege rooms and Suites. However, you will soon start to see these becoming less common in hotels due to greenhouse gases and hotels trying to make improvements to become more greener. Mini fridges will soon start to become a thing of the past within many hotels for this reason. Your feedback is however well received and will be used to make any improvements to our product and service standards where necessary. I really enjoyed my stay here, right in the middle of the action. Staff were always more than willing to help out. The hotel is old, quirky, and full of character which I really enoyed although that does mean lopsided equeaky floors! Breakfast was great and I made good use of the gym

Central location that’s easy to get to, friendly staff. But I really don’t understand how this is a 4* hotel. The floorboards are creaky and walls are thin so you can hear people in the hallway and neighbouring rooms walking around, as well as street noise as the hotel overlooks a string of bars and restaurants. The furnishings also need updating, with socket covers pulling away from the wall as you take a charger out. The bar also wasn’t open during the stay. The bed was soft but definitely not a king size room as had been booked. Overall it does the job for a night but I wouldn’t return for the amount charged
