I had to book this hotel for my boss who stayed three nights. She reported that it was the filthiest place she has ever stayed in and that she dreaded coming back in the evenings. The room stank of nicotine, the carpet was dirty and everything was neglected.

Wouldn’t stay again.

£200 for the night with no hairdryer or iron. The shower is awful and can’t be moved from its position. You don’t get a floor mat so have to use a hand towel to walk in. It’s definitely budget not budget and also in a really run down area of London. Queue at breakfast was massive so didn’t bother.

I booked two rooms it’s good n tidy as well it’s near tube. My friend Mandeep Singh recommended me and it’s in London centre . He’s working as security there. Staff was polite as well……secure room because when you use lift it’s not working without key.

Great budget hotel within walking of central London.

We had a lovely stay at the budget Ibis in Whitechapel. Nest room with breakfast and AC was best price we could find for central London, compact but perfect for a base with comfy bed, nice shower, TV and view of London skyline. Continental breakfast had great selection to choose from. Staff were friendly and allowed us to check in early on arrival. Located a short walk from Aldgate East tube station for easy access to city, or within walking distance to Spitalfields food/craft market, Brick Lane, Tower Bridge and the Tower of London (20/30 mins). I would be reluctant to walk alone in area at night. Room could do with a little bit of maintenance (few marks on walls/floors) but for the low price we paid this didn’t bother us. Only thing missing for us was a hair dryer and a few tea/milk sachets (only kettle provided). Overall, for a clean comfy bed and bathroom for a budget stay in central London we would stay here again.

Serious security and personal safety risk after software update fail at Ibis Budget Whitechapel

Ibis Budget London Whitechapel Road. Very very poor, actually dangerous and unacceptable. Check in at 3pm few staff many customers. They had changed their software today and it was not working. My booking reference not recognised by check in laptop. Staff reverted to paper. Whilst I was checking in, a lady very distressed came down saying the room she had been allocated was full of another family’s luggage and personal effects - they clearly had not checked out. Whilst the staff were trying to help her the exact same thing happened to me- room 417 had luggage in the room and a handbag on the bed. Manager allocated another room (505) but really worrying security fail. Another customer checking in could easily be given a key to my room. Security and personal safety seriously compromised. I think Accor need to address this urgently - software updates very frequently generated problems, extra staff of sufficient seniority and expertise should have been on site The shame!! Outrageous! Photos of another person’s luggage in room 417 when I opened door!
