Great stay in Berlin!

We had a lovely three night stay at the Ibis Berlin Kurfuerstendamm. The rooms were modern and comfortable with the bathroom matching that same standard - clean, stylish, and well maintained. The location could not have been better. It is a short walk to a train station with easy connections into the city, which made getting around incredibly convenient. There is a supermarket right across the road and several Christmas markets a short stroll away, perfect for exploring during the festive season. All of these elements came together to make our stay in Berlin truly enjoyable. I would happily return!

Friendly reception team. Room clean and comfortable with daily housekeeping. Good breakfast selection. Conveniently situated 2 minutes walk from Wittenberg Platz U bahn station for quick and easy trains to all of Berlin's attractions.

The Ibis is a budget hotel with a small but not tiny room. The bathroom is excellent and has a very powerful shower. The bed is wide and very comfortable wit a deep mattress. The room is spotless, staff are friendly and drinks and snacks are available at reception. Overall it is great value for money. The big plus here is the location. Within 2 minutes there is a large supermarket, plenty of cafes and restaurants and a U Bahn station. The hotel is barely 5 minutes from Zoogarten U and S Bahn with many more transport options. There are many shopping options and almost endless cafes and restaurants in the wider area. You get what you pay for and that does not include tea and coffee facilities. The cafe across the street sells a great milch kaffe for less than 2 Euros.

Hotel is steps away from the Wittenberg plaza which contains a group of restaurants with al fresco dining, a small grocery store, bakery, and pharmacy making this the most convent place to stay in Berlin. The KaDeWe luxury department store also faces the plaza for those who like to shop. The room was on the small side, has no safe and no fridge. This is more of an economy hotel. However, the staff were very helpful, accommodating, and go out of their way to please. You can check your luggage at the front desk if you arrive before the room is available. If you want a larger hotel room, suggest the Mercure Hotel which is on the south side of the plaza. At the center of the plaza is the Berlin transit "Wittenbergplatz" station which has the U1, U2, & U3 trains which connect to the rest of the Berlin system. Load the VBB.DE app to navigate the transit system; very easy to use. Also, all the Hop-on bus companies have a stop in front of the KaDeWe store. Great location with access to the rest of Berlin.

Careful Beds Riddled With Bed Bugs

Its a budget hotel so was not expecting the Ritz. Staff are very nice and helpful. Reception facilities were great. The room itself was fine, basic but OK. The reason for the 2 stars is me and my partner are now covered with hives that I can only assume was caused by bed bugs. The bed was a thin mattress and though it looked clean each morning we woke up the hives got worse. We put the first night down to just a coincidence that we got them but after the second night knew it had something to do with the sheets.
