Disappointing for a Mercure branded hotel

On the positive the hotel is in a good location. Unfortunately it misses the mark of being a good standard that would be expected when booking mercure. The odd numbered rooms on the lower floor face onto a concrete wall which makes the room dark. There is no outlook at all. This needs to be made clear on the website. The bathroom is small and difficult to open the door and close it behind without a squish. The power socket next to the sink in the bathroom was insecure and wobbly. Overall the room was a good size with room for a family if needed. The floor has a slope on part of it - possibly a small step that has been removed. The restaurant isn't open all day and dinner is a basic menu. However there are a good many eateries nearby so this isn't a problem. Noise was an issue. There was noise like an industrial vacuum from the next door business. I think it could be a car valet place? During the night we could hear footsteps on the floor above, and a lot of animal squeaks - either bats or rodents - not likely birds. We were not disturbed by the maintenance that was happening on the elevator. In summary, we used this hotel because it was part of the Accor Hotels medium range. However there appears to be a number of rooms that don't come up to that spec and I do not feel this is reflected in the room rate where there are other hotels nearby at a similar rate for better value.

So the check in was very easy. They are in the middle of updating/upgrading their elevator so the bus guy carried our luggage up 3 flights to our room. It didn't matter to us due to the elevator situation, we had to walk the detour but may be bothersome to others. The breakfast was very good. Many options to choose. The front desk associates were very helpful and knowledgeable.

Room was lovely & clean, fridge a bit small we couldn't stand a bottle in it, no parking facilities was a huge letdown as it was costing us up to $20 a day for parking so would not stay here again for that reason, as we had a package deal breakfast was included & fabulous

Very disappointed that there was no room service and I appreciate the lifts have to be replace but difficult for some peoples mobility
