Had stayed in Pullman Skyway previously and thus was familiar with the hotel. What made the stay very memorable was the impeccable service provided by Krystal, who was an intern at the hotel back in December. She was very attentive to our needs whilst on duty, and as a family with 2 young kids, she always went the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable, and to even proactively helping us in many little things. (Such as fetching a glass of warm water for my older boy when she noticed he might be feeling cold) It is such acts of hospitality that I've come to trust Accor group of hotels and I'm very pleased to see Accor's standards living up in the next generation of young hospitality interns. Will definitely be happy to stay at the Pullman Skyway once again!

Housekeeping dept & English standard needs serious improvement

Hotel amenities and location were great but were not enough to make up for the terrible experiences caused by the housekeeping dept and the bad English standard of the hotel staff. The nightmare with the housekeeping dept started at the point of check-in: rooms were not ready at the standard check-in time of 14:00 and we had to wait for another 30min in a very crowded lobby with insufficient sitting area. Another hotel guest next to us had been waiting for his room for an hour plus, as the room previously given to him had a terrible cigarette smoke stench when it was supposed to be a non-smoking room. During our stay, the housekeeping dept started to show signs of their bad habit - throwing away guests' stuff whenever they felt like it even if the stuff was very far away from the nearest trash bin, starting with brand new straws (in their packaging) left on the pantry table top for the drinks that we bought and placed in the room fridge. The final straw came on New Year's Day when housekeeping threw our limited edition cans away - these were rinsed and placed behind 3 brand new bottled drinks on a round side table that was at least 5m away from the nearest thrash bin - so as to prevent housekeeping from thinking that they were to be thrown away. Without standing right in front of the side table, it would have been virtually impossible to know that there were limited edition cans behind the 3 brand new bottled drinks. We came back on the night of New Year's Day and discovered that the limited edition cans had gone missing... After multiple phone calls to the hotel's service center, we were finally compensated with the limited edition cans BUT the front desk expected us to go down to level 1 to collect the compensation... One wonders if they had forgotten who created the nightmare in the first place - their own staff or the hotel guest? Furthermore, the hotel staff mending the service hotline and the front desk could only speak very, very limited English and could not handle any deviation from the standard English phrases they have learnt, much less handle a complaint lodged over the phone in English. We ended up having to lodge the complaint in Mandarin and dealing with the entire encounter right up to the compensation in Mandarin. One wonders what would have happened if housekeeping did the exact same thing to a non-Mandarin-speaking guest? Let the non-Mandarin-speaking guest suffer his loss in silence since the hotel staff cannot understand the guest's complaint made in English despite being a global hotel chain? Our advice to all future guests (especially non-Mandarin-speaking guests): lock everything up in your luggage if you do not wish to come back one day and discover that things have gone missing or deal with the hotel staff who speak very, very limited English.

I have stayed at Pullman skyway for past years, but this time, overall experience was very disappointed, very old towels, shower is slow, hot and cold water not consistent, I have reported but not more improvement... I am thinking to switch hotels now

impressed with the service rendered from conceirge, front office reception and cafe service staff especially a Filippino cafe waitress by the name of Issa. Always greet you with a very warm smile and ensure that you are served with a cup of hot coffee during my breakfast buffets during my stay. The experience was really great. Just a comment to help improve on the concierge service. I was waiting for the team to help store my luggage, but all of them were busy except one staff. However, the staff ignored our presence and continue to look at his handphone. We just waited patiently, and overheard him telling his colleague to attend to us when he is free. Perhaps the staff could have just acknowledged our presence and kindly let us know that they were all busy and to give them some time instead of just looking at his handphone the entire time.

Great hotel shame about the basement breakfast staff

The hotel itself was great including the executive lounge but we had a problem with rude staff in the basement breakfast area. See my tripadvisor review below. The hotel is modern with business class facilities and the only issue is the breakfast staff in the basement this leaves a lot to be desired. On the first morning we went to breakfast in the basement level which was slightly chaotic for business class hotel as we were left standing at the breakfast entrance area. We were asked room number and left walk around to find a table... My wife who is Japanese/Brazilian and I went to get a coffee from the coffee machine and as we were using the machine a female waitress, Sunny approached with an empty cup to get another customer a coffee, she stood behind me huffing and puffing trying to emphasise she was in a rush so I gave the first coffee to my wife and stepped back from the machine so she could use it to get her customers coffee. At this point another male waiter approached and Sunny ignored the fact I had stopped using the machine and started chatting in Chinese and laughing and joking with her colleague. They started showing mobiles to each other while talking so I continued to get another coffee. Sunny then noticed I started using the machine again and pushed her arm around in front of me started to push buttons on the machine trying to hurry up whatever the coffee machine was doing. I asked what was she trying to do as it was not helping and I had already used the machine once so knew what I was doing. At this point she said something in Chinese I think to my wife or her colleague. I am English not oriental looking in anyway and cannot speak Chinese. At this point Sunny had moved in front of me, stood in front of the coffee machine so I could not collect the coffee or see the machine and turned and asked my wife rudely in English 'are you Chinese'? My wife replied no at this point Sunny's expression changed to one of distain or what we call in UK gave my wife a 'dirty look' from head to toe, Sunny then turned her back on both of us moved my cup from under the coffee machine and started using the machine ignoring us. At this point I asked Sunny what she had said in Chinese and why she had asked my wife was she Chinese and was she speaking to us or her colleague? I also asked was there a problem with us using the machine. I think at this point she realised she was being very rude and we looked a bit upset, she started giggling. I said to my wife lets leave so we left the breakfast area went back to our room

Location very good near METRO and underground shopping and eateries. Walking distance like 5 mins. Service at the door is good. Cold weather he will call in the Taxi to come in and pick up without extra charges. Only thing is the Room is very humid. No window and the room air is not circulating therefore making it very humid. Immediate response was a Portable Air Blower was brought into my room. It helps a bit. Thank You Pullman.

In Shanghai, it is not easy to get an excellent hotel room under RMB$1,000. I highly recommend Pullman and also there are lots of restaurant and a tourist spot nearby the hotel within walking distance. The service of the hotel is excellent too.
