Overall a very good stay. I chose this place as we were staying for 7 nights with a 2.5 year old, and needed access to laundry facility and kitchen. We booked a 1 bedroom apartment which was plenty of room for us two adults and a toddler, with a crib in the living room (you can request a crib). We had a tub and a separate shower which was also a plus. Laundry cost 10 franc for 1-2 loads (2 washer loads but dryer took 2 hrs+), and 2 laundry pods. They also supplied garbage bags and dishwasher pods, toilet paper (you just have to ask). Staff were super helpful and friendly. They do have hair dryer but bring your own shampoo/ conditioner/ body wash. 1 block away is a coop (grocery store) which we went to frequently. There are bakeries, restaurants and shops also within 5 min walking distance. It is also in between two major tram stations (Wettsteinplatz & Claraplatz) which made it super accessible. 5 min train ride from Basel SBB on the #1 tram, and 10 min walk to old city Basel. We had everything we needed for the week, and we are super glad to have stayed here! Totally recommend for a family with little kids.

(Location) Luckily you get free transport in Basel if you stay in the city. Without this, I would say the location is a bit far away from the main city centre. For some if lost it takes 30 minutes to walk to the old town. The tram is quick and takes less than 10 minutes. The hotel is easy to find and you can see a big Adagio sign. The tram stop is still a 5 minute walk. Surroundings you can find supermarkets (minus Sunday) opened and restaurants. (Hotel) The hotel staff are very polite. You can pay for breakfast if you would like and they sell a few drinks etc for the room. You can grab a few fruit teas for free. As for the room. I would say it's a delight. The kitchen has pans, utensils, microwave oven with grill, electric induction hob, plates, cups, Nespresso (you have to buy your own capsules). I didn't see a kettle but I never used it as it was a hot day. There is a fridge too. As for the bed, it was comfortable. You have on each side plug sockets which is convenient. Cupboards to store your clothes. TV with plenty of channels but mainly foreign. Extendable table to eat but could have done with one more table. The bathroom was big and the shower was powerful. The bath tub was a bit mouldy on the edges though. (Anything else?) There's a gym in the basement. There is onsite parking. There are washing machines but you have to pay and get your own detergent which is normal.

It is my first time to stay in Adagio chain of hotels, particularly in Basel Switzerland and I look forward in booking in the same hotel in my future trips in different parts of the world. Stayed here for 6 days and 5 nights with a friend. Reasons: 1. Apartment type hotel conveniently located to supermarkets and public transpo such as tram. 2. It has laundry area, gym and luggage storage. 3. Spacious room. Feels like a home away from home. 4. Own kitchen and living room area. 5. Friendly staff at the reception. Free pastries, welcome drinks at the lobby. 6. Has a small snacks counter in the reception. 7. Comfortable and cozy lobby reception. 10/10 as rating.

Hi all, Stayed here for 2 nights and 3 days, this hotel is perfect location for the town, we were on the 5 floor, the apartment is great for Self catering everything you need is there, staff are very helpful, we went to the Christmas markets which are very magical but Basel is very expensive, co-op and Lidl are very close so stock up. Definitely use the trams to get about.

The room was actually a small apartment with a little kitchen (which I did not use). The bed could have been lifted up to make room for an eating table; the lifting mechanism made the bed a little creaky, but it was comfortable. The apartment was very clean but in need of renovations: the wall was rather scuffed up and the furniture has seen better days. Nice bathroom with good shower. WiFi was good, but the power outlets and light switches confusing. There was no reading light. Most (if not all) of the apartments appear to be on the ground floor surrounding an inner courtyard which guests can use. If you like sleeping with an open window, this is fine as long as nobody is smoking or having lively conversations in that courtyard. Also, one probably would not want to open the window all the way horizontally, but only tilt it open. Breakfast was very standard for this class of hotel. The neighborhood is not the fanciest, but the Rhine river, old town, shopping, etc., are all within easy walking distance. Besides, one gets a card for free public transportation.
