ibis Basel Bahnhof 2,5 gwiazdki

Arrived 45 mins before our check in and were offered an immediate checkin for an extra 25 CHF. The room came with a balcony if you can call it that and 4 coffee capsules. Price for one night 175 CHF Room was small dated hideous cheap pine furniture and an orange wall. Hallways very worn. Reception looked ok but typical outrageous Swiss prices for breakfast soft drinks etc. l get Switzerland is expensive but l stayed in a four star hotel in beautiful and interesting Barcelona for 135 euro. Stay in Freiburg in German side or Mullhouse French and get a bus to Basel.

We stayed in this hotel two nights and we are completely satisfied with our choice. Room: comfortable for 2 people, clean and quiet (it was on the rear, second floor); comfy bed, small sofa, desk with chair, small but adequate bathroom with good shower, individual heating, openable window, blackout curtains. Breakfast: buffet style, really good in terms of choice, availability and quality. Hotel: clean, free luggage deposit, modern décor, tables and chairs outside to sit and smoke a cigarette or chill out with warm weather. Location: short walking distance from/to train station (where there are supermarkets open till late and on Sundays, too), 15 minutes from/to airport by bus n.50 stopping in front of train station (free with Basel card as all the other transports), at the corner there’s the bus stop of tram n.16 leading to city center, quiet area and safe also at late hours, there’s a useful Domino’s pizza restaurant 2 minutes away. Staff: really kind and helpful, especially the young lady who also speaks Italian.

A hotel that I couldn’t stay but gave me the greatest service with their respectful and caring customer service. I’ve book a room for 2 nights, but after the devastating earthquake in Turkey, our flights got cancelled, and even though I’ve booked it with no cancellation option they kindly and respectfully canceled out our reservation. Best example and experience that a hotel can give, I’d like to send my gratitude and appreciation to ibis Budget Basel hotel, I’m truly grateful for their service. Hope to see you and stay in this hotel in a better time

Śniadania mało urozmaicone, codziennie to samo. W pokojach przydały by się choć szklanki. Nikt nie wozi szklanek ze sobą a fajnie byłoby się napić coli albo wody mineralnej ze szklanki. To nie jest chyba nadzwyczajne wymaganie.

What a great hotel this is! Close to public transit, clean and comfortable, English tv channels, reasonable in price. Take Tram #2 from the main train station and get off at IWB, the second stop, and it is right across the street. Tram #16 is on the perpendicular street and takes you to the heart of the old town. Best of all -public transit is free if you stay at the hotel! Free WiFi. Good breakfast (extra charge). All in all, I was quite happy.
