I arrived in the evening and the person at the reception was more interested in talking to a colleague than checking me in. It goes without saying that once in front of the room the card was not opening. I had to go back and have the card activated correctly. Too bad because the hotel is nice and comfortable

When we booked the room we made a mistake. We booked it for one person instead of two persons. When we wanted to check in the person on the front desk told us that we did the booking only for one person. We asked if he can adjust which he gladly did. Later we checked the price we payed for the "double room" and found out that the rate is higher than the standard rate for a double room. The next day we asked how this is possible and were told there is a "penalty fee" for additional person. We understand that we have to pay the difference between single and double room but that we have to pay a higher rate compared to a normal double room we don't understand. We did not try to sneak in the second person for free. We were together at the front desk where we found out that we made the mistake to book only for one person instead for two. Can you please explain why we have to pay a penalty for the second person and the rate we payed is higher than the standard rate for the room? We stayed already last year in this hotel and we really like it. Last year we booked it with booking and were asked to book it next time directly on the IBIS homepage. This year we booked it directly on IBIS homepage which we were not so familiar with and made this mistake. We liked our stay this year but this additional penalty does not sound fair to us.

You made a mistake in booking, which can of course happen, and our front office promptly corrected it. The difference between the price of single occupancy and double occupancy is CHF 30. This was communicated to you at check-in and you accepted it. We did not charge any penalty but simply corrected the price. This comment is also unfair to our staff who went out of their way to make sure your stay was pleasant and who do not deserve such a low rating just because you made a mistake in booking. Thoughtful staff. And greetings welcome exemplary. Had Suite 501. So well designed and furnished! The terrace was outstanding! Location to go to the city attractions is fantastic while walking thru the nearby parks

The hotel is well located and the personn is very friendly. My room was tiny and dark (1st floor) and even though I stayed in Locarno for work, natural light and a view out the window is important. Also, room service for breakfast would be crucial for guests who, like me, have little time in the morning before running off into a new work day.
