Room was not ready on arrival. Had to wait 1 hr to be allocated. Room a bit tired and in need of an update as is whole hotel really. Gluten free options at dinner limited especially if vegetarian.

We stayed for one night at this hotel. Surprisingly it was warm enough to sit outside and enjoy a drink before dinner. The meal was lovely, good service from the waiter. However we asked for the pillows in our room to be changed as they were so hard and very uncomfortable. We had read reviews saying the same so we asked just after arriving at 5:30pm to give plenty of notice for them to be changed. Sadly, they were not changed and we had a fitful night of sleep resulting in stiffness and tension in our neck and shoulders the next day. Beware of the tv in the room. We wanted to watch breakfast news but no signal on the tv. Apparently overnight the tv goes into ‘sleep’ mode and you need to switch off the power at the socket and switch back on again. We mentioned to the receptionist on checking out and he agreed it should be mentioned in the room. One other person was querying why her tv didn’t work when it had been perfectly fine the evening before. Breakfast was adequate- no choice of eggs - only fried - and no one to ask for a poached egg. The head waiter walked off as I was trying to tell him that that orange juice was pouring onto the floor. Someone had not turned the ‘tap’ off correctly on the juice container. Reception desks need a good clean!! First impressions etc?!

The initial Privilege Room allocated was not as advertised. No chairs, very sparse and overlooking carpark. The hotel did move us to a room in the Annexe building which had a sofa, lake view and beautiful bathroom facilities. (Although no fan in the bathroom) Breakfast was sufficiently catered for. Hot food, pastries, good bread etc Dinner was lovely, flavoursome, well presented by lovely staff. Spa was very impressive and Espa massage top class! Location of Hotel is very good and within driving distance for many outings. All staff were very friendly and welcoming.
